Great Bridal Experience! 7/26/2011

Skye did my updo and makeup for my wedding. I was visiting from out of town so had never been to the salon before. It was very expensive, but I was so happy with the results. Skye was so friendly and really worked to make my wedding vision come to life. My hair was perfect and my makeup was amazing. My only issue (apart from the price) was that my hair did need some pinning later on in the night as the style didn't stay put as well as I would have liked. It was an easy fix though. I would definitely recommend the salon and Skye in particular for a big occasion. more

Beyond RUDE 10/12/2010

I paid over $400 for the work I had done and I wanted to cry. My stylist was beyond rude and snobby. There was one nice girl who washed out my hair after I was left sitting forever under the heater. I left with my roots still showing. My stylist had zero personality and was not put together very well. She was dressed horribly and had flakes in her hair. At a alleged high class salon like this, I would have expected more....wrong again! more

Worst Hairstylist Ever! Avoid this salon at all costs! 8/20/2009

I don't know why this salon has such a high rating. I think stylists asks their clients to write good reviews about them so they can get more clients for themselves out of this. Cons: inexperienced stylists, too much pressure to buy, overpriced more

This salon BUTCHERED my hair! 8/20/2009

I have been bleaching my hair blonde for nearly ten years and I never had a problem until Christina started coloring my hair, retouching my dark roots when they would grow out. I started seeing her early last year 2008 and in the beginning it was okay but after a few visits, she started getting lazy and didn't give her undivided attention to my hair. She left the bleach in too long on my roots and it overlapped on previously bleached hair. When this happened a lot of my hair broke off near the roots and I ended up with all these short hairs on the top of my head. She also had me come every 6 weeks for touch ups which was a big mistake. I listened because I thought she knew what she was doing. Every stylist I talked to since then said you should wait at least 8-10 weeks between touch ups. It's as if she just wanted her job to be easier and didn't really care about her clients hair. When I started noticing my hair break off and told her about it, she suggested I do a high lift tint which would lighten my hair without bleach. She said that way my hair wouldn't get damaged and I ""won't end up with a mullet."" I am not kidding. Those were her actual words. Again I listened because I though she knew what she was doing. She didn't. I ended up having an inch of orange hair on top of my long blonde hair. And when my dark roots grew out I had 3 different colors; brow, orange, and blonde! It was hideous! I could have done a better job with a bottle from Walgreen's if I did it myself and with a fraction of the cost, and trust me I have done that before! That was the last time (6 months ago) I ever visited and will ever visit Cinta Salon. When I complained about the damage that Christina did to my hair, they refunded me the money from my last appointment but that could not undo all of the breakage that was done to my hair which will take 2-3 years to grow back. Cons: incompetent stylists, too pushy, too loud, impersonal, etc. more

I love Lihn and Swan!! Best Manicure/Pedicure by far! 11/22/2006

I've been to a lot of mani/pedicurists in this city (even those ranked ""the best"" by this website) and I always come back to Lihn and Swan when I want it done right. It's $60 and it's well worth it. If you're looking for more than just some scented lotions and a quick color change, come to Lihn and Swan. I'm a runner and climber and they take such good care of my abused feet! They take care of ingrowns without me having to say anything and their color application is perfect everytime. Pros: Awesome Mani/Pedis, Variety of Services Cons: Pricey, Not Open Sundays more

Expensive but worth it 11/20/2006

I've been recommending this place to all my friends. It's pricey but i've had consistently great haircuts and highlights. I recommend Sara for both color and cut - she's great. Pros: great ambiance, service and location Cons: parking and price more

Great haircuts 10/11/2006

Arvinn is talented, professional and fabulous! He's a great listener, very thoughtful and the haircuts are great. Dympna is really good too. Pros: quality salon more

For a haircut, go see Cass! 8/16/2006

I absolutely love Cass' haircuts. And her attitude and skill are unparalled. It's such a great experience going to see her for haircuts. She's especially good with angled cuts and always does such a great job with my short hair. But beware, she charged $92 a pop, which can get pricey. But she's certainly worth it every so often :). Pros: Great cuts, less attitude Cons: EXPENSIVE! more

HATED IT! 6/12/2006

This was the WORST updo experience ever. In the past, I've given CINTA the benefit of the doubt, and because of so many recommendations, I have gone back again and again to try different stylists and even paid $94 for a haircut from a ""mentor"". NOT WORTH IT. This last experience was awful and drove me to never go back. They charged me $70 for an updo, which was done by a stylist. She clearly didn't know what she was doing, and when I asked if she did updo's regularly, she said that she was actually a COLORIST! The worst part is that my ""updo"" fell apart 10 minutes after I walked out. more

Cass is the best! 3/4/2006

I've going to this salon for the past 6 years & will continue doing so. Fortunately, I have never experienced anything negative at this salon. Tried several other salons, but none have beat Cinta Salon. Cass has been doing my hair for the past 2 years and always does an exceptional job. She is extremely sweet and a great listener. Not only do I love this salon, but now my mother does too (since Aug'05)! Very professional and great hairsylists, colorist, and estheticians! (Tad pricy but worth it - to me at least) Pros: Hairstylists, Location, Chic Decor Cons: Tad Pricy more

if you call that chic, check in the dictionary 3/4/2006

San Francisco has so many Hair Salon, so I didn't know, where to go. I went there, because it was ""told"" ""chic"" But ladies and gentlemen, ""chic is in: St Tropez or Milan or Paris or London"" but this cinta was una favella. and my hair stay one hour. No thanks Pros: learn how to style, are not stylist Cons: very expensive, no respect more

Not worth the high cost 2/24/2006

The quality of the cut and the overall experience did not warrant the amount that I paid for the ""mentor"" stylist. If I'm going to pay $94, I expect to have the stylist with me from beginning to end. Instead, I was mostly taken care of by the mentor's assistant. His cut was good but not great. Furthermore, the blowdrying was subpar; the moment I got home, my hair was already a mess. The salon does not live up to its hype and I will not return here. Pros: lots of appt. options, chic decor Cons: high price, average service more

So great! 2/4/2006

I have never been so happy about my hair! My color was exactly what I wanted, and my cut is perfect. The shampoo was even relaxing and enjoyable. I would recommend Cinta 100%! Not only did I leave with my hair looking the best its ever looked, but the price was about 1/2 of what I have been paying at a different salon. Amylynn and Season were wonderful! Pros: price, wonderful employees more

Excellent 1/28/2006

I have been to many hair salons and have paud very pricy rates for not so good cuts. This was the first place that I really felt that the rates were worth it. Teresa is excellent and she expertly knew what to do with my hair and the perfect cut to give. Everyone at Cinta is extremely friendly and, unlike some other comments I read, I am not put off by them leaving products for you to buy at the end. I see them as merely suggestions and sometimes I do buy them and sometimes not. I have never been pressured into buying extra items. I plan on going here for a very long time. Pros: expert hair stylists, friendly, knowledgeable Cons: expensive more

One stop shop with great service 1/18/2006

Hip salon without the pretentious attitudes. My friends and I get cuts, color & brows - always great. No complaints at all - they will take care of you here! Pros: great hours, friendly staff, the best stylists more

bad cut 1/15/2006

i went in wanting a pixie cut and walked out with my hair completely butchered. i'm used to having short hair too, so i'm definitely not skiddish when it comes to getting my hair cut. this was the first time, i almost felt like crying as i walked out of the salon. i've been to this salon several times before and my cut would always need a couple of weeks to set in and look good. this place is overrated and expensive. i think they charge a lot for their location and ""atmosphere"". other than that, the hair cutting is sub-par. Pros: clean, professional, bumble & bumble stuff Cons: bad cuts, expensive, kinda snobbish more

Subpar Cut/Color for Top $$!! 1/9/2006

I decided to try Cinta salon after seeing the high ratings on Citysearch. My haircut and highlights set me back about $300 and the results were average at best. My color was barely visible, and the cut was nothing to speak of. Needless to say, I won't be going back to Cinta anytime soon!! Pros: Light, airy salon, Friendly staff Cons: Overpriced more

well worth it 9/2/2005

I tagged along as my friend got her haircut at Cinta and the staff were so friendly even though I wasn't a customer. That drew me and their hairstyling team is great! Amy-Lin was great in helping me finding a color and is super sweet. I was kind of indecisive with my haircut, I wanted so much stuff and Libby was able to give me a style fits my style, my routine and that compliments my face. I love the atmosphere. I would recommend people to go there if they want a great cut and a friendly atmosphere. Pros: friendly, stylish, convenient Cons: bit $ for a student more

Need a Hair Cut There - I just had a nightmare 9/1/2005

For some reason, she (the hair stylist classfied as mentor) decide to do whateven with what she wanted with my hair without consulting me. I'm having the worst hair cut in fifteen years. I hope I would be able to correct the hair cut after few months. On the back of my head, the longest hair is three times longer than the shortest hair. Want to know how I feel about the her professional skill - she is a desiaster if you need a hair cut. Pros: location Cons: professionalism, service, sales pressure more

Snotty employees 8/23/2005

I paid 300 for a haircut and highlights. When finished, my highlights weren't even visible. The woman who started on me stated that she didnt have time to comb through my hair and that I should have done it before I came! I had made my appointment several weeks in advance. A total of 4 woman worked on me, none were friendly, all were snotty as though they had more important things to do. They cancelled my brow threading, which forced me to get a waxing ( which caused a reaction). I didnt see a single smile from any of them. I don't recommend this place at all, it was an awful experience. Pros: clean Cons: expensive parking, rude employees, overpriced more
