This conveniently located center (Michigan Avenue and Randolph Street) is the perfect spot to find out what's going on in Chicago. The building houses a variety of events--from plays and musical performances to traveling art shows. It's a good place to get the latest information on free activities in the city or, for the tourist, to collect brochures and information on fun things to do and see in the area. This is also a relaxing place, where you can sit and enjoy lunch at the Corner Bakery or, if you work downtown, feel free to bring your own lunch and enjoy a noontime concert most days of the week. There's a small gift shop carring museum-quality gifts. The Cultural Center is housed in the old Chicago Library, and a real treat is seeing its Tiffany stained glass dome, the largest ever made. This is a good place for tourists and Chicagoans alike to explore. There's always something new, and always someone there to help you find your way around Chicago.
