We visited Chicago on a gorgeous, balmy, blue sky day and did the Obama Tour with Kelly. This trip provided great exercise getting down to Hyde Park, and then beautiful riding around the University of Chicago. We learned a lot of interesting things about Chicago history and saw a part of the city that was totally new to us. The bikes were beautiful, comfortable, and so easy to ride. I would definitely recommend this as a great way to tour the city!
Pros: Invigorating, healthy, fun
Cons: None

The Chicago Architecture Foundation is a treasure. In this city of "big shoulders," architecture is king. There are so many important architectural treasures in the city that even native-born Chicagoans can learn a thing or two from the Chicago Architecture Foundation. They offer a wide variety of tours in the city, including walking, river cruises, and bus tours to important sites outside the main city center. Check their schedules or ask at the desk what they're having that day. The also have an excellent gift shop, which I highly recommend. Here you can find great books, modern home furnishings, postcards, and the perfect trinket to take home if you're a tourist. Don't miss one of Chicago's best institutions, located just across from the Art Institute.

There are several competing boat tours you can take when you visit Chicago. Most of them originate from Navy Pier these days, although there are also some that start from under the Michigan Ave. bridge.
These guys have been around since 1939 and do it right. They tell you a lot of interesting Chicago history as you tour the downtown lakefront in the boat.
I remember taking this tour as a kid and I'm sure it would still be fun. Chicago's lakefront is beautiful and has a fascinating history so if you want to play tourist, this is a good choice.

I took the highlights bus tour that went through downtown and through the neighborhoods of Chicago. It was 3.5 hours and $40. I can't wait to do it again. As a person who has been to Chicago a few times and didn't want to do anything too much like a tourist...I tried this out and was so happy I did. We were able to go into buildings downtown and then we were able to take a tour of the Robie house not to mention getting to see about 30 miles of Chicago. If you can this is a MUST SEE!
Pros: So historical and so much information. It was a great experience.

We cruised in Chicago on the Odyssey this past weekend. The attentive staff, good food and great entertainment made it a special evening for us. The waters were calm and the views were beautiful. It was topped off with an awesome fireworks display. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and recommend the cruise aboard the Odyssey for a special night out!
Pros: Very special event
Cons: No drawbacks, everything was perfect

More
This conveniently located center (Michigan Avenue and Randolph Street) is the perfect spot to find out what's going on in Chicago. The building houses a variety of events--from plays and musical performances to traveling art shows. It's a good place to get the latest information on free activities in the city or, for the tourist, to collect brochures and information on fun things to do and see in the area. This is also a relaxing place, where you can sit and enjoy lunch at the Corner Bakery or, if you work downtown, feel free to bring your own lunch and enjoy a noontime concert most days of the week. There's a small gift shop carring museum-quality gifts. The Cultural Center is housed in the old Chicago Library, and a real treat is seeing its Tiffany stained glass dome, the largest ever made. This is a good place for tourists and Chicagoans alike to explore. There's always something new, and always someone there to help you find your way around Chicago.

The last time I went here was with my high school to celebrate my class' graduation. What fun this place was!
The boat is huge and it is such an elegant experience. They have some great food and though we could not have the drinks, everything else was great.
They have a great crew here that makes you comfortable and you enjoy your entire journey, enjoying the really nice views and the great breeze from the lake.

I am a born and raised South-Chicagoian, and when my relatives from San Francisco CA, came to visit last week I wanted to make their first trip to the Windy City as fun and eventful as possible! We went to see Jersey Boys, had plenty of pizza, and went to the Hancock Observatory. On their last full day here we were walking along Michigan Ave. near the Water Tower Place and say a nice looking, energetic young man selling Chicago Trolley Tour Tickets! Because it was such a sunny day, and he assured us that the Trolleys were heated we decided to take the Hop-on, Hop-off tour!
It was fantastic! We were able to see the entire city while having a wonderful guide/driver! He was entertaining and joked around with everyone, especially my family because they were from San Francisco, where Trolleys were iconic!
We were able to take the trolley to Millennium Park and Saw the Museum Campus then we got off by the theaters and got our FREE Garrett’s Popcorn and made it back to the Hotel/Drake before they finished for the day!
Even being from Chicago, it is not often that I take time and really try to enjoy it and learn about my city! We all had a wonderful experience and fully enjoyed the tour. Whenever I have friends or family come to the city I will recommend Chicago Trolley Tours to them!
