Sears Tower is absolutely one of my favorite places in Chicago. I know it is quite a ways to the top of it, where the Skydeck is so keep your eyes close if you're afraid of heights (at least until you get off the elevator). You have to pay a minimal amount to go up there but the view is amazing!

The shed aquariam is an awesome place. You will find every type of fish here. It is pretty interesting. It is a great place to take the kids. They will surely enjoy themselves. However, you cannot spend too long here. It does get kind of boring after looking at fishes all day. I found the dolphins and whales to be the best site. The fee for admission is pretty reasonable. I find it not to be too pricey or cheap. I would suggest everyone to go here. It can be prety exciting and fun.

When it comes to Chicago museums, the Planetarium is often forgotten or overlooked. However, it's a great place to spend a day during any season. In the summer, it's also enjoyable to visit the outer grounds, being that it is located on a marvelous part of the lakefront. Inside the exhibits and theatre show will marvel old and young alike. Like most other museums, admission is pricy, but it is definitely worth the visit.

Bowling is the new Black. While Waveland stays true to their roots, they are constantly searching for the ?it? factor: the newest, hottest, flashiest thing around. Whether it?s decoration or music, Waveland has it.
Because Waveland is such a landmark, be prepared to wait or call ahead to see how busy it is. They do not take reservations, so be prepared to wait in line, deli style. While you wait, grab a bite at Alley Dogs ? which is much more than just dogs. They serve gyros, Mexican food, and even something for the vegetarians! There are two bars at Waveland, both with exceptional service. (Chris waited on us. Nice guy.)
Did I mention they have pool? These pool tables are incredible! Whether or not you?re actually going to Waveland to bowl or not, you must stop in and see these tables. I have never seen anything like it!
The staff is pretty friendly, for the most part. When our ball got stuck because my girlfriend didn?t throw it hard enough, they were happy to assist. Waveland is also clean every single time I am there. The bathrooms and locker room is spotless.
Bowling at Waveland has changed over the years. Recently, they went to an all pre-pay system, and they now charge per hour instead of per game. Either way, it?s still a fantastic deal.
Have kids? They practically entertain themselves at my daughter?s favorite Disney Movie Theater, down by lane 40. It?s always locked, I think. The front desk can open it for you.
Does anyone remember the ?old? Waveland? It was rough, and had a bad crowd. Now, they have security (Chicago Police) there every night. They strictly enforce Chicago curfew, which is nice, because after a certain hour, it?s mostly adults. (You know, the mature kind.)
I love Waveland. My parents took me there when I was a child, and now I?m taking my daughter there. Tradition, Waveland Bowl style.
Pros: The front counter ladies recognize the regulars, atmosphere, price, SECURITY ON A REGULAR BASIS.
Cons: SOME of the staff, certainly not all.

Every year for now 5 years I go on each major architectural river cruise to ensure that I have first hand knowledge to rely on when assisting guests at work trying to book these wildly popular- and for good reason - chicago tours. Certainly being on the river on a beautiful day in Chicago is a treat regardless and include starbucks and pastries I am even happier! They even have evening cruises with cocktails- Happy Hour(well hour and a half) And if you or if you have kids with you if they can hold it together for 90 minutes then by all means do not short yourself by taking the shorter tours of 30 or 60 min available elsewhere. you can't do the full river in less than 90 min. This tour always is my favorite as the tour guides are historians(this is the official tour of the Chicago History Museum) and no one tells a better more comprehensive and interesting story of the chicago skyline than the tour guides with Chicago Line cruises. The first lady from the Arch foundation is a close second but at times they are dry. Seadog and shoreline are a waste of money as clearly their tour guides are summer help and it shows with the often innaccurate information. As far as the condition of the tour boats Chicago Line has various vessels but I have always found them clean and safe and comfortable!! Must take this tour!!
Pros: Amazing Tour guides and Starbucks and pastries included

We set up this tour for our friends birthday weekend in the city. We were greeted by a huge old school-buss painted black with fake bullet holes scattered around it.
Our tour guides were awesome, we had "Al Dente" and "Louis" take us on a scenic tour around the city of chicago. They were both dressed in 20's ganster wardrobe and also spoke the part. They told us elaborate stories about Al Capone, John Dillinger the northside/westside feud, prohibition and so much more!
We listened to blues music/old italian music and thoroughly enjoyed our tour. The only con that we all had were a few women who joined at the last minute who spoke through the entire tour, very annoying!
So, if your looking to take a trip through chicago's history back from the good ole' prohibition days, we recommend it! Also, the items for sale were reasonably priced....we bought coffee cups for $6 bucks a pop!
Pros: Our tour guides rocked!
Cons: Rude guests (not the responsibility of the tour guides)

We spent our entire 5 days sight seeing all over Chicago i.e., planetarium, aquarium, museums etc, but the best day we had was spent taking the Chicago Bucktown/Wicker Park Food Tasting & Cultural Walking Tour! We met at a hot dog stand where we had the best tasting hotdogs I've had in my life. We continued through the streets of Bucktown and then on to Wicker Park. As we walked through the neighborhood we were taught about the rich culture and archetecture that was established throughout history. Our guide was fantastic and he provided a rich history and outlined some of the best hotspots to dine at. I can say I truely enjoyed all the food I was given to try... In conclusion I would have to highly recommend this tour. The tour guide was great, the food was awesome, and the history within the area was indeed very fascinating... Good food, good friends, good times, Thanks again. We can't wait to try their signature tour, the Chicago Near North Food Tasting and Cultural Walking Tour. Read their reviews at chicagofoodplanet . com
Pros: Great tour guide, excellent customer service, fantastic food samplings, awesome history and cultural tid-bits

The Shed Aquarium has a great indoor dolphin show. If you sit in the front then you can get splashed, so be careful for that. It costs to get in for this, but it is worth it. They also have this huge fish tank in front that you get to see for free and every once in a while you can find divers get in it and feed the fish. There are all types of fish including sharks right in front of you. It's pretty cool for being free.
