I was employed at Cedars, so I may be a bit biased. But here is what I experienced in the short amount of time that I worked there:\r
\r
-Tons of cockr oaches. There is a big bucket of water with sponges kept in it for cleaning tables. The bucket is kept on top of a small cabinet. On my first day of training, I was told to retrieve a ""clean"" towel from the cabinet. Upon opening the cabinet, about a dozen cockr oaches scattered everywhere. I saw at least two everytime I worked. One was in the ""clean"" silverware bucket and crawled out as I was organizing the silverware. \r

-Terrible service. However, don't blame all the bad service on the servers. The servers are closely monitored by managers and are told EXACTLY what to do. Servers are not allowed to have any personality in your serving style. As a server, I think one's job is to judge what each customer wants, likes, and dislikes as far as service, and modify their own serving style to meet each customers' needs. Some like over attentiveness (which you will definately receive at Cedars, because you are told that the water can NEVER be more than an inch below the top), and others like to be left alone. Servers are told to wipe the table down after all dishes have been cleared, while the customer is still seated, using one of those nasty over-used sponges. \r
\r
-NO SERVER HANDWASHING STATION! On my first day of training, I asked where I could wash my hands. I was told I would have to go TO THE BATHROOM to wash my hands! The servers NEVER wash their hands while they are working. Sick.\r
\r
-Servers eat leftover food from customers' plates.\r
\r
-The owner is very rude to his employees.\r
\r
I enjoyed most of the food that I tried while working there (although I've had better), but it was hard to force it down after seeing the unclean conditions of the restaurant and kitchen.\r
\r
The servers are absolutely NOT allowed to keep their tips. So if you must eat at Cedars again, don't tip.\r
