What a great store for finding a unique and personalized Christmas gift! Go when you have plenty of time--you won't want to feel rushed. The bears are kind of expensive, and you can probably put something similar together after a trip to JoAnn's for a lot less. Of course, Build-A-Bear is very convenient! Be sure to avoid this place on weekends, especially as the holidays approach--it gets very crowded. more

This place is awesome. You can build your own bear for a friend or even for yourself. But watch out, it can be quite expensive. It doesn't take too long to build a bear. What takes some time is deciding what kind and how you want it made. They put the finished bear into a real nice box. It is a great gift idea. I would reccomend it as a birthday gift. more

My three girls love to come to this store on special occasions. They just love to pick out their animal, make a wish and kiss the little heart, stuff and fluff it, and then pick out an outfit for it! We once took our whole girl scout troop to this store and we had a wonderful time! It was busy and chaotic but the girls all got a bear. They even give out patches for the back of their uniforms. more

Build A Bear workshop is a really cute store. I think it is aimed more towards young children, but I think adults too love this store. Basically, you get to come in, pick a teddy bear, pick out its clothing and accessories, and put it all together! There's lots of fun themes to choose from. I actually got my sister one of these for her graduation (all decked out in a grad gown and cap). Its a wonderful and sweet place to be whether your a kid or all grown up! more

This place is too cool!! I worked for the company for over a year and I loved it! It really doesn't get old making teddy bears. It's a very detailed process. First, you gotta pick out your animal, and there are new options every month. Then, you have to stuff the animal. The machines are really cool and fun to play with...especially filling the machine with more fluff. After you stuff it, you have to do a heart ceremony that is almost guarenteed to be different each time you go. Each employee puts their own spin on it. After it's sewn up, you have to give a bath, dress it, name it, and get its home. There are new clothes coming in on an almost weekly basis, so there is always something new. The staff at Navy Pier is the best too! Alright...I'm a little biased...but this place rocks! more

I love Build-A-Bear! I feel like a little kid when I walk into this place - I'm awed by all the cute clothes. At Build-A-Bear, you choose your stuffed animal and he/she's "born." The animal gets stuffed with a heart tucked inside, and then you pick out clothes. The selection of clothes are amazing! And the details of the clothes make it look just like miniature outfits. more

How cool is building you own bear? Yea, it sounds like a kiddie activity, but you would be surprised how much work goes into putting together one little bear. From stuffing it, to giving it a heart, to picking out an outfit, it is one hefty task. But a really fun one too! The cool this is that you get a birth certificate for you bear, so you get to name your bear too! And they get new, trendy clothing for the bears all the time. So your bear can always be in fashion! more
