The tires were wearing out on the inside on my car. Bought new tires, and it took it into auto stoppe. Took them almost three hours to align it. One year, and 10,000 miles later, one tire is worn down to the belts in the same way. \r \r Tried to sell me new struts. Blames it on Austin roads, no interest in making it right.\r Pointed to the numbers to show that the computer had thought they were within spec. The problem is not one caused by struts.\r I should have shown the computer printout to the tire showing steel belts- on my wife's car. \r \r While digging through receipts for the one on the alignment, found another where they'd replaced an oxygen sensor in April. I'd pulled the codes on the car (it's a feature on this model, all functions are available from the nav panel), and took it in for an oxygen sensor- you really need a lift for this car. Excellent Services 5/28/2010

Tony is the shop owner and has owned this shop for as long as I remember. It is basically a neighborhood shop in north Austin near Hancock and Burnet. His work is high quality and much more cost effect than any dealer I know. His lead mechanics have been there a long time and are knowledgeable. Pros: Great personnel, much experience on foreign & domestic cars Cons: I can't think of one thing.Call Tony first for appointment. more

Low key, honest general auto repairs 8/13/2008

A co-worker recommended this place and we were not disappointed. The owner is low key, doesn't try to scare you into repairs you don't need or prey on your ignorance. The diagnosis (dead AC :-() was explained very clearly, what tests they ran to determine if the parts could be repaired or needed replacing. The estimate was spelled out in detail, along with all the various options for saving money on parts by searching for refurbished parts or junkyard parts, how long that might take vs. buying new parts from the dealer, so that I was able to make a really well-informed decision based on time vs. cost. I like that this is an independent shop, I've always had better luck (better prices, more honest, better customer service) with small shops than with dealerships. Brakes, tires 11/28/2005

This is where I take my car for brake service, lube and oil change, and wheel alignment. The guys that usually work on my car are good humored and seem trustworthy. They have good hours throughout the week and they usually are not too crowded. They do really good work and I have yet to have a problem with them. more
