first edition post 2/28/2006

This is the first edition of my post for Atomic City Comics. However, first edition and A C C don't belong in the same sentence. This has potential to be the gathering place of the nerdy/awesome group roaming South Street. It's too small these days for that, so they've decided to only sell comics orderly/non-loitering people would buy. That might not have been their plan actually...I think they just have yuppy taste in all things comics. btw- it gets a "Great"cause its the only one on S S and always worth a gander. more

THE CITY IS ATOMIC! 2/28/2006

Atomic City comics, formerly Showcase Comics, is South Street's only comic shop. They got cut in half lately and it shows. Their stock is almost totally mainstream and the small selection of Indie stuff they have gets smaller every time I go in, crowded out by Manga and adult-type stupid comicerotica. I almost can't stand going in here any more. more

No good directions 9/12/2005

I love this place, I don't consider anyplace else if I need a book. But, if you need to find something in particular and don't know where to look, or need some other type of info, it's best to figure it out on your own. Everytime I have approached their people for help I get a smarmy attitude and am made to feel about five years old. But I suppose with an inventory such as theirs you don't have to pride yourself on service. more

comic book store on South Street 8/21/2005

Atomic City Comics on South Street is a store devoted to comics, cartoons and games. How can you not like this place? With a wide assortment of comics and games, this store carries almost everything for the comic/gaming fiend within you. This shop is definitely worth stopping by for those looking for a comic book store on South Street. more
