I haven't been there since the renovations but this was always a kickass place to see lesser known or local bands. It was a really intimate, small place, and there was a chance to hang out and maybe drink with the band members after the performance. I haven't had any of their food but their beer selection is large and delicious.

Best Buy usually has the best prices on electronics. This past Black Friday, they topped themselves: each store would have a minumum of 10 laptops on sale for just 350$. That's unbeatable. A friend and I got there at 11PM to camp out the whole night and there were already about 10 people in front of us. It was craziness. By 5AM when the people (thankfully) came out to hand out vouchers for the big ticket items to make sure people who had waited the longest got what they came for (we got our laptops!) the line was about 800 people long. It was a freezing cold night, the coldest I can remember of this warm winter, but we got what we came for.

Dunkin Donuts is the best place to be. Not only do their donuts blow all the competion out of the water because they are so mindbogglingly delicious I want to marry them, but they also have munchkins. Those things are so cool! And their coffee is top shelf, better than pretty much any other coffee I've had. Go to this place.

This place has bread coming out its pants! I didn't know there were so many kinds of delicious, delicious bread. I think they made some of this up: triple cheese sourdough bread? That's not real! I'm sure this is the only store it's made at. Aside from bread, they offer plenty of meats and cheeses to put between the bread, and lots of soups to dip the bread in. They even have Peanut Butter and Jelly for kids that you bring. The ones I've been to all have the same type of laid back, coffee shop atmosphere, and it's just a nice place to relax for lunch.

It has an old-timey feel to it, but that's probably cause it's been around so long. Home to operas, plays, orchestras, and all manner of things in between, the Academy of Music is one of Philadelphia's cultural cornerstones. With recent rennovations, it's even better than before, and even if you've already been there, make sure you head back up there to see it again. It routinely hosts more affordable performances, so getting tickets to a great show isn't very difficult.
