I went here while visiting Philly to check out UPenn. I was torn between going to the Franklin Institute or touring the historical district -- and boy was I glad to have chosen the first! They have great hands-on exhibits that teach about electricity, bloodflow, etc. What TRULY amazed me was the limited time Body Worlds exhibit. (It's there till April 23rd, 2006, so catch it if you can!)

This is deiniftely an offbeat museum, which has hundreds of medical abnormalities on display. They have everything from a wall of human skulls, the soap lady, and everything in between. Definitely worth checking out if you have never been and are looking for something new.

Artifax is a well known Northeast Philly institution. Artifax is a smoke shop as well as a smokers dream come true. You will most likely find whatever it is that you're looking for here, if not just ask and someone will help you get it. They have a rather extensive collection of Zippo lighters that is great for the collector. Be warned that this shop is small and the space can get tight.

Nice selection of products ranging from the low end throwaways to the high end, expensive, don’t-drop-it-or-I’ll-kill-you items. There are metal, glass, and wood items, as well as stickers and the requisite tie dye t-shirts and tapestries. I’m pretty sure there was some incense for sale too. And, it’s the only head shop in Philly.

In college i learned much more information on the civil war than in high school. My professor really encouraged all of us to go to this museum, even offering extra credit. The price was really cheap about five dollars so it was worth the extra credit! I was really amazed to see all the history in the museum. I thought the photos were really interesting as was some of the body armor. The truth is that i should have came here a long time ago I learned so much about our country.

I come here all the time for so many things! First of all they have great produce last summer they had the best tasting plouts. I love the meat shop because they sell specialty meats like quail and duck legs. They also have a many cheese shops as well for purchasing the real goos stuff. The have this dutch market where they sell all sorts of baked goods. Anything you want to eat you will find here, they have sold food, cheese steaks, Chinese food, Italian anything you can think of! I would recommend coming early to the market because some of the vendors get sold out very quickly.

This is another great day for the family. The kids will love the fossils and bones and fossilized eggs that they can touch. The dinosaur skeletons are really impressive. The last time I was there they had a huge butterfly exhibit where you walked through an enclosed area full of plants and butterflies of all sorts were all around you. If you stood still they even would land on you. There are rocks and minerals and gems to see.
There are also areas where large taxidermy specimens of game animals are on display behind glass in settings made to look like their natural habitat. This is a fun place!

I have gone here with my husband. They have Heated range stalls in the winter, plenty of parking and there are never lines! Although I do not golf off of the tee's, I did play minature golf. It is a very nice family fun evening. They also have battting cages and a small ice cream parlor. Prices are reasonable, so it can be an outing for the entire family. It will make you feel like you are on vacation in your own backyard.
