I love B&N for their excellent service! I have not found their level of service at any other bookseller in the city (including Fox). They will order anything for you and get it to you fast. This is why we are B&N members!

This place has been around for about 30 years! They have practically anything you could ever want, & things you didn't even know you wanted. The staff are very personable, and even on an off day they will happily help you find anything you need, so long as you are a considerate customer! They poke fun at each other, so don't let it throw you off. They aim to amuse. If they don't have what you are lookin' for they probably order it. They even mail you a notification/call to let you know that they've got it!

The store is very well organized and clean. There are multiple areas to sit and look over materials such as the cafe, where customers are able to purchase coffee, espressso, ice cream and various other delicious items. There are designated areas within each section and a very interactive area for the children to find books and sit and read them. The store is stocked with materials such as historical, religious, self help, craft and do it your self, art, etc. They also sell games, calendars, bookends, picture frames and various other asssorted items.

great selection and everything was in very good condition. every shelf you turned to, seemed to have a gem! also, was tidy, dusted, and had a charming comfortable atmosphere. comfortable beat-up reading chairs, plus a wooden stool near each set of shelves - very considerate additions. also, serves tea/coffee and delicious little brownies. there are two cute little tables near the window (and the used cookbooks) for great people watching while waiting for a friend to finish digging through the stacks.
a wonderful find!
Pros: great selection! clean, charming neighborhood store!

When I'm not trolling used bookstores for bargains I'm here. The big chains don't hold a candle to the knowledgeable, well-read staff. And, if they don't have what you're looking for they'll order it for you. They can get their hands on the most obscure titles!

This place is huge. It's so nice to go in and get a book or magazine and a coffee and spend an afternoon. They have nice loungey chairs and theyre 3 stories tall so, there's plenty of room. My sister likes to sit on the floors in between the shelves and spend all day there. It's cheaper than buying the books and nobody bothers you.

Used books at less that half the price, you really can't go wrong They offer a wonderful selection at the absolute best prices. This is a nice little used book store. It's great for fiction books, especially romance, mystery and science fiction. Their selection of non-fiction/self-help/cooking/lifestyle books is much more limited. However, it's a great place to get a book for a vacation or plane ride, and it is usually very cheap.

More
Hidden within Frat Row (or one of many on Penn's campus) is this quaint little two story building converted into a local bookstore. The store itself caters to many classes at Penn but is in itself a treat for anyone looking for a rare book find. The bookstore carries many hard to find books and the service is amazing. The people are very knowledgeable and the books are priced just right (and certainly cheaper than the giant mass-marketed Penn Bookstore).
Go there for your liberal art classes textbooks and, if for nothing else, to say hi to the owners who are always there ready with information, new book releases and, of course, a smile. Don't go there, however, expecting to find EVERY book published, a gigantic selection or anything else but books. The house can get crammed at the beginning of the semester (as the hallways are very tight) and the textbook selection can often overpower the "just to read for fun" selection. Still, visit this gem on campus while its still around and support the local mom-and-pop shops in the area.
