I've eaten here over a dozen times and I still love it as much as the first. If you're going to dine here, get the omakase and be sure to get the $120 because the $80 one will just get you the pedestrian stuff you see on the menu. I was here last night and the place was packed (on a wednesday!). If I didn't make my reservation for 8:15 I would've had to make it for 9:30 as all the spots were booked. I love the toro tuna tartare, the yellowtail carpaccio, the oysters, the kampachi salad, the 8 spice lobster, the kobe beef sirloin, the sushi, and even my apricot pound cake. Yeah, can you tell this is what I had last night? Awesome awesome!!! Five stars all the way.
Pros: the food
Cons: very noisy

The lower level wine cellar eating area is so warm and inviting, yet is classy and sophisticated at the same time. The food is prepared expertly and the table side Caesar salad presentation is entertaining with a most delicious result. This is a great place for an anniversary or other very special meal. Try the Salmon Granato for a different and delicious treat!

I'd never been to this restaurant and was invited to attend a surprise birthday for a friend. A party bus picked us all up in Maryland where we live and took us for the hour drive to Bistro Romano.
I have some photos posted here on my blog but Citysearch does not permit me to post the URL. You can see them perhaps by googling Chronicles of a Country Girl super fun happy (it's what I named the post).
A section had been reserved for our party of 22, downstairs near the intimate wine cellar room. We were given a set menu to order from and I chose the Chicken Putanesca. My only complaint is that the caesar salad, so widely touted, was very much on the wilted side with too much dressing. The flavor was still incredible but it was just a tad disappointing. The Putanesca was divine, as were the roasted vegetables. We enjoyed a layered birthday cake and the coffee was excellent. One of the best cups of coffee I've been served in a restaurant, quite frankly. The atmosphere was unique. Superior service.
Pros: Ambiance, service, meal

The food was great and service was awesome. They offered to put up the gift basket we made for a friend as we were there celebrating her pregnacy. I especially loved the lamb chops.

If you are walking down south street, you can't pass this place by. They are normally really busy, but quick to get you your food. They have an upstairs and downstairs with tables for dining in, and not to mention, they sell beer. You can get it all at Jim's: a great steak, a cold beer, and nice place to sit and look out onto the street. A+

My boyfriend and I went to Pod for our anniversary and we LOVED it. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. Our waitress was extremely friendly, without being weird and she was very knowledgeable and well-trained. We got the crab rolls and spicy tuna roll as appetizers- they were fantastic. I had the Chilean sea bass (best I've ever had) and my boyfriend had the wasabi-crusted filet. Both meals were incredible! I forgot to mention how cool the restaurant was inside as well. All in all, I would definitely go back (for a special occassion- it was somewhat pricey!)!!! It was a really great experience!
Pros: atmosphere, food, service
Cons: a little pricey

If you havent been to Eulogy you are missing a fantastic piece of Philadelphia. The food is excellent, the service is immediate and the beer list speaks for itself. I am a regular at Eulogy and will continue to be a regular. I am a big fan of trying different beers and really learning about the beer at the same time...this place is perfect for that. There are many things on the menu that are "must tries"...fries, mussels, hanger sandwich, cheese plate...and of course all the beer. The buffalo wings arent the best Ive had, but thats about the only thing I can think to say negative about this place. The bartenders here are the most knowledgeable I have ever met. They can make dozens of recommendations, tell you about the brewing of the particular ale, tell you about the history of the beer and even tell you the best temperature to drink it. It makes visiting Eulogy more than just a night at a bar...its more like a history lesson, museum and party wrapped into one. Sophisticated or sloppy drunk I love this place.
Pros: Beer list, bartenders
Cons: nothing

We had a reservation for 10 at 7pm on a Friday night. I changed that to 8 people the on Thursday. The person on the phone was very pleasant (not always the case in Philly) Our table was ready when 3 of us arrived at 7. The rest didn't show up for 10 minutes. The staff remained pleasant throughout the evening. Wonderful waiters and good food. I will definitely go back!
Pros: Service Attitude Attitude Attitude
Cons: Noisy
