Argonaut Book Shop is a sweet little book shop on Sutter street in the middle of the Financial district. When I have a couple of extra minutes during lunch time or after work, I head to Argonaut Book Shop and sit down on the floor to read a book or two. I buy a cup of joe a block away and enjoy sipping it while reading a book more

nice book store 8/19/2005

This is a great place if you are looking for books about California and especially its history but they also focus on Western America, rare literature and illustrated books as well as maps and manuscipts. They also buy books. Bookbinding and restoration services are also provided. I did it once and it took them 20 days to do it, too slow for me. more

this book store is the bomb. it's super old, older than time, it has the history off california. alfred hitchock used this book store in one of his more famous films, vertigo. if you love vertigo, you will love this bookstore. they have a huge selection of all types of books, you will find what you want, i guarantee it. beleive me, this bookstore is the only book store you need to visit. tell them i sent you. more
