My family have been dinning at Marnee Thai restaurant for the last 15 years and never one time disappointed. Our last visit to the restaurant was last nite. We love the mango salad, corn cakes, spicy and sour PoTaek soup, Prawns with String Beans, and Pad Thai Silver Noodle. We would recomend anyone for any item on the menu you will never be disappointed.
Pros: Great Food and Reasonable Price
Cons: Too Busy

I am a So. CA native. I lived a short time in SF when I was growing up & frequented the Clement St. neighborhood (& went to Star of the Sea School). I love this area for it’s diversity. I especially love the Green Apple Bookstore for its sprawl & good selection of unusual books. When I am visiting in SF I try to plan a trip to Green Apple as it is always a treat to spend as much time as possible getting lost in the books & touring through what seems like room after room after room of books. I have special memories of visits & great books I acquired at Green Apple!
"What books have you acquired?" - you ask.
A selection: "Tales from the Prince of Story Tellers" - edited and with an introduction by Barry Menikoff (my intro into the world of Menikoff's research into RLS), "The Collected Poems of W.B. Yeats", "Jorge Luis Borges Collected Fictions" - translated by Andrew Hurley, "Il Fornaio Baking Book: Sweet and Savory Recipes from the Italian Kitchen" (acquired visual memories - did not purchase), and most recently: "The Biodynamic Food & Cookbook: Real Nutrition That Doesn't Cost the Earth" by Wendy E. Cook.
My very favorite bookstore in SF!

My friends and I bought several books and some small chotchkie items from City Lights and had the best time hunting for obscure titles. I think the guy behind the desk got a kick out of us having so much fun! Highly recommend as this shop is for great times, soul searching and pleasant atmosphere!

Left wing political book store and more. They actively encourage taking books off the shelf, sitting and reading for as long as you'd like. I think, secretly, they're hoping you'll get into the book and buy it, but even then, I think it's a nice gesture on their part. All the latest anti-bush, anti-consumerism, anti-globalism, anti-establishment publications. It always energizes me, being in here. Makes me want to read like crazy, read books I know I'll never get around to reading. Good deals on new releases. Lots of edgy zines and lefty mags. No better place to get your social consciousness on.

We used to shop at Stacy's often when we lived downtown, and sometimes to the Palo Alto one (when it existed) and it has a great selection. They specialize in technical books and they are really great. They also have standard bookstore books -- a great place to come and browse during lunch!

I have always had good luck finding books I like at this store. Perhaps too much luck because I always leave away the poorer. I don't even buy the knick-knacks along the line to the checkout counter, but a video here, a children's book there, and I'm always over budget. I do appreciate the employees though who are always helpful.

Dog Eared, while not as big as some of the big boys, is one of my favorite used book stores in the city. They have a nice selection for their size, alphabetized and divided into browser-friend sections and the staffers are lovely and very knowlegable about their stock.
The store also offers a small selection of new titles, used CDs, alternative press and a decent kids' section.
If you're selling, they pay fair prices and take a wide variety of books.
