Great place to dine in with your family and friends. Nice ambiance, accommodating staff and great food all in one place. Nothing else to look for in a restaurant.

Total Cuban Experience 12/16/2005

From the music to the food and drinks, Alma de Cuba is wonderful. The atmosphere in the entrance bar is loungy and great for happy hour and appetizers. The decor makes you feel like you are in Cuba. The food service is prompt and friendly and the food is always perfect. Its a must eat at spot in Philly. more

Amazing cuban food! 9/21/2005

I recently had dinner at Alma de Cuba and I cannot say enough positive things about it. It's this great little restaurant that's decorated in red and white colors with latin music in the backbroud. When we first arrived we went to the bar and had some mojitos - bit pricey but still very good. I had the tuna and thought it was excellent! Although if you are not a fan of garlic you should choose another dish. My fiance had the bacon-wrapped scallops and he also found them delicious. While the food is a bit expensive (20-30), it is worth every penny. more

Mojitos and Pina Coladas by the Square 8/16/2005

Located a stone's throw from Rittenhouse Square, Alma de Cuba, the restaurant J. Lo reportedly visited while still part of Bennifer, boasts a downstairs lounge with a tasty menu of tropical cocktails. The drinks include several incarnations of the mojito, a tasty non-frozen fresh pina colada in a coconut shell (okay, so it's ceramic), and a rum-based lemonade. The signatures cocktails run $9 apiece but are large and plenty alcohol. This spot has red leather seats grouped into little seating areas as well as seats at the bar. I'm a little below the age of its typical patrons but it strikes me as a perfect place for a date or for the young thirtysomething professional crowd to go to find a date. I recommend especially the Mojito Martini - in a big martini glass it has all of the flavor of a regular mojito but for $9 it has none of the ice. more
