If you havent been to Eulogy you are missing a fantastic piece of Philadelphia. The food is excellent, the service is immediate and the beer list speaks for itself. I am a regular at Eulogy and will continue to be a regular. I am a big fan of trying different beers and really learning about the beer at the same time...this place is perfect for that. There are many things on the menu that are "must tries"...fries, mussels, hanger sandwich, cheese plate...and of course all the beer. The buffalo wings arent the best Ive had, but thats about the only thing I can think to say negative about this place. The bartenders here are the most knowledgeable I have ever met. They can make dozens of recommendations, tell you about the brewing of the particular ale, tell you about the history of the beer and even tell you the best temperature to drink it. It makes visiting Eulogy more than just a night at a bar...its more like a history lesson, museum and party wrapped into one. Sophisticated or sloppy drunk I love this place.
Pros: Beer list, bartenders
Cons: nothing

We went after a business meeting to decompress and were able to have a personal conversation, Happy Hour deals on beer, and a $4 appetizer of Hummus with cucumber, carrot, celery and toast. When we needed to get the laptop out to handle unfinished business, we went to one of three table-tops and had even more privacy. We had another round of drinks, finished our work, and stayed for dinner - incredible Caribbean Ribeye and Ravioli, French Onion soup with homemade bread and clear, fresh, ice water.
Pros: Small upstairs bar where you can have a conversation
Cons: What are the drawbacks?

After reading some of the negative reviews...I felt like I should post my recent experience at Monk's.
I felt the service was very professional. Both bartenders were pleasant & prompt with service. Perhaps some of the complaining customers are used to be coddled or having their rear ends kissed...but nothing I saw of the staff could have possibly construed as rude.
As testament to that...both bartenders were patient & professional even when putting up with with the obnoxious group of early 20ish lawyers seated next to me.
The atmosphere was very cool. It's dimly lit, really good music over the house PA...just a really cool vibe.
I ate at the front bar. I had the Lapin a la Gueuze (braised rabbit and root vegetables) and thought it was perfect. I couldn't have been happier.
Overall...I think it was an excellent experience and I will definitely be going back. A word of warning...it's not the cheapest bar in the city...beers I drank were mostly in the $7-8 range. However...the quality is definitely worth it and personally...I think slightly higher prices chase away the riff-raff.
Pros: Great beer selection
Cons: can be a little pricey

This place is amazing - I have been there several times and it just makes for a great night out. The mojitos are the best I have ever had and depending on who you are with, it could be very romantic or really crazy fun.
Pros: Great atmosphere and drinks
Cons: maybe a little costly

Wonderful ambience. Great food, beautiful presentation, very fresh ingredients. I ordered the pan roasted New England Halibut. It was superb.
Unexpected treat: the interior decor. The curtains and chairs were made using Kevin O'Brien fabric. (My wife absolutely adores Kevin O'Brien scarves.) We were visiting from out of town and had a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience.

Just ate there about a week ago. Although it was very busy we had great service and the food was great. After we ate we went over to the bar and Nick the bartender made us some great drinks. I would definitely recommend this place to any sushi enthusiasts. Ignore all the bad remarks because to be honest the food here is great. Great atmosphere too, epecially on the second floor. I recommend it!.
Pros: Great service great food.
Cons: A little hot on the second floor.

Amada has it all, hip bar, entertainment and fantastic food. The meat slicers on the bar slicing fresh cheeses and various deli meats gives you the great feeling of freshness! The bar tenders are very friendly and the small plate of tapas are so much fun to share with a group of friends. All around one of my very favorite places to eat in Philadelphia!

We were in Philadelphia sight seeing for the day, and had a recommendation from some of my daughter's friends to be sure to eat supper at Jones. We got there at about 3:30 PM, and were told they wouldn't be serving supper until 5:00, but the bar was open and we were welcome to sit and have a drink while we waited. It was hot out, so we decided to have a few drinks and stay in the cool while we waited for supper time to arrive.
The bar staff was friendly, the drinks were refreshing and good, and the time passed easily. The hostess asked if we were ready to be seated at 5:00, and took us to our seats. Our waitress was very friendly, and very efficient. Among our group, we ordered the meatloaf, crabcake dinner, the pistachio tilapia, and the chicken and waffles. Everyone thought their meal was excellent. I would be proud to recommend this restaurant to my friends and family (I already have!)
Pros: Comfort food with a twist
Cons: No service between shifts
