I joined this gym about three months ago. I told the person who signed me up that I was mainly interested in aerobics classes, particularly during lunch-time.
Now that I have been a member for a while, I can comment. The instructors are GREAT, among the best I have ever had. However, the classes are PACKED. The step class was so crowded that women were stealling each others' steps. Finally, belatedly, they started a waiting list.
In the turbo kick box class at lunch, you don't have the step issue, but it gets extremely crowded, dangerously so, given that people are kicking. We eve nhad a pregnant woman in the class for a while with everyone kicking around her. And if you get one show-off in the class who has big wide kicks and ddrmatically big movements, or conversely, someone who can't step to save her life, it can be really uncomfortable. Also, it is EXTREMELY HOT in the classes. People have complained about this repeatedly, but the problem is still there. We came in last week and were told: the fan is gone again. So not only is the air conditioning not set low enough but the fan is not there. Sometimes people drop out because it is so hot.
I think the staff members have been blase or non-responsive to concerns. When we say it is hot, they say the temp is as it should be. If they have a lot of people who want aerobics, they should put two cardiac classes on during the day. Instead, they seem to take the cheap careless options wherever possible (eg hot rooms). Not having tickets at the door is an example of their lack of care.
What could be a great experience, given the cleanliness of the gym and the great instructurs, becomes a very uncomfortable, competitive, hot situation.
Be warned.
Pros: clean, great instructors
Cons: non-responsive staff, crowded hot classes, careless toward customers
