I purchased a Toyota Highlander back in 2004 and returned of course to learn about my new and greatly improved Toyota choices. I'm now the happy owner of a 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid!

Worst dealership experience ever 7/6/2010

Six weeks after purchasing a used vehicle from Magic Toyota in February 2008 I learned that the car had been completely repainted on both sides (driver and passenger). This was an enormous shock because the car wasn't even two years old, appeared to be perfect, and was represented by the sales agent to be ""in like new condition."" We paid a premium for ""like new condition."" Every time we asked for service records, accident reports, etc. we were always pointed to the ""clean"" carfax report. Although service records were promised to us, they were never provided. We were most certainly misled as to the quality of the car, and most conventional consumers would agree that we had been flat out lied to. It is patent misrepresentation to put a damaged car on a lot at a price as if nothing were wrong with it. Not to mention the sales pitch that the car was ""like new."" If this isn't intent to mislead, I don't know what is.\r I met with the dealership owner/manager, who inspected the car and agreed that it was significant enough to warrant an adjustment - either credit toward another purchase or a ""trade."" I asked that the manager simply find me a replacement vehicle that was the same quality vehicle his dealership represented to me. More than six months of back-and-forth ensued during which the dealership mostly kept mum unless I proactively called to get an update on the purported ""vehicle search."" Despite acceptable cars appearing all over the market, the only Solaras purchased by Magic Toyota were ones that expressly did not match the conditions stipulated and many times had far more miles, bumps and dings, and sometimes were not even the trim model I had purchased. \r As time dragged on, it became apparent that the dealership had no intention of finding a replacement and this was simply a stall tactic to avoid me. There is so much more to this story – but in the essence of time, let’s suffice to say I have not pursued resolution further as it is clear that a mutually acceptable remedy cannot be reached and I remain completely dissatisfied.\r Every time I step foot in my vehicle I am reminded of the deceit propagated by Magic Toyota and my utter detest for its business practices. Please be wary of this dealership and take any used vehicle you wish to purchase from Magic Toyota to an authorized mechanic for a thorough evaluation prior to purchase. Pros: Polite customer service - at first Cons: Deceitful sales tactics, misrepresentation more

Bad bad bad 6/9/2010

DO NOT EVEN BOTHER WITH THIS PLACE...YOU WILL AT BEST BE MERELY SATISFIED AND AT WORST (AND MORE LIKELY) SCREWED! Confirm this fact by reading other reviews! Toyota usually makes quality cars, and there are quality dealerships in the area; but this is not one of them. \r \r The fundamental problem with this place is the ownership/leadership, so don't blame the sales-people personally. True, they are for the most part unsophisticated, uneducated, and unprofessional, but if they were not they wouldn't be working at a Toyota dealership on Aurora Avenue in Lynnwood! \r \r You may get a good price from them (they have to offer lower prices to make up for their poor reputation). And the sales folks are actually pretty dumb, so you may be able to trick them into getting a good deal. But you need to balance this with the fact that:\r \r 1. You cannot believe anything they say - EXPECT INACCURATE INFORMATION. Do your research up front. Much of the information provided by the sales team was not accurate - this actually reflects the ignorance of the sales team, trying to compensate for being undereducated and improperly trained, and is really the fault of the owner. \r \r 2. The deals are shady: I responded to an ad for a car on Craig’s List. When I got there, Tyson marked it up 10%. Interesting because just the last week the Mazda dealership down the street was indicted for fraud for this same thing. My solution was to just leave and come back to a different salesman. \r \r 3. You are on your own once you write the check. They seem to be clueless to the fact that they can still make money on you with service, accessories, referrals and future sales. But do not even bother calling them with questions or concerns; even the sales manager will behave like the DMV!\r \r Bottom line, be very cautious. If you aren't getting a car below invoice, you aren't comfortable managing any problem that comes up on your own, and you aren't comfortable buying a car from a place that is run like a high-school car-wash, then save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else! If it seems too good to be true, it is. \r Pros: Had the car I wanted Cons: See below more

worst service ever 3/20/2010

We scheduled for diagnostics and they told us over the phone that it will take hour to hour and a half for it ( the same thing they said when we actually came in). Diagnostics took whole three hours!!!!! If you plan to take your car here for service cancel all your prior engagements. Bring in lots of reading materials... I mean a lot and food too if you don't want to pass out waiting for someone to tell you wants wrong with your car. Take your car somewhere else after leaving this place. Pros: no pros Cons: not worth it more

IT'S TOO BAD.... 3/1/2010

I've been on the search for the past three weeks for a cherry 2003-2004 Corolla LE (must have sunroof!). Found one at Magic Toyota via CL. Chagrined however to find the negative comments, but not at all surprised. Dealerships are often high pressure, known for bait and switch and other nefarious tactics. I don't know why this is necessary or even tolerated in our society. It just pisses people off, and does NOT make for good business. Why lie and cheat, when you can simply make an up-front deal and be done with it? Car sales is like race memory, it gets passed down from old sales people to young, generation after generation, the same nasty habits. \r \r Note the great review by the person who supposedly purchased FJ Cruiser. I say ""supposedly"" because the Pro and Con look a bit too cute, like they were written by a sales team, not by a real customer. Shill reviews are common, thus I am suspicious.\r \r In fairness, I haven't had a chance to visit Magic Toyota. But reviews such as on this CitySearch page scare away business (including mine). I would suggest to anyone at Magic reading these reviews to make some internal changes if these customers were wronged as they describe.\r more

GREAT SERVICE 10/28/2009

I went in for a simple service and WOW!!! They took the time to explain everything they did to my car...They even opened my hood and pointed out every piece they replaced and serviced!!! I have never experienced this at any of the other local Toyota dealerships. Magic Toyota is my new home for SERVICE. \r \r Pros: GREAT PEOPLE!!!! Cons: Nothing more

The WORST car buying experience EVER 8/2/2009

I went to Magic Toyota about two weeks ago to test drive a 2010 Corolla LE. At first the salesman was very helpful and informative until I told him that I wasn't going to buy it that day and I just wanted a quote because I wasn't completely sold on the car just yet. After haggling for about thirty minutes, he came back with a quote that was $16,888 with a $500 customer cash rebate and 0% financing for 36 months. I took that quote and gave him my contact information. \r \r The next week he must have called me at least once a day asking me when I was coming in to buy the car. I was quite annoyed and didn't really want to talk to him and told him that email was the best way to contact me basically so I can have everything in writing. \r \r I went back to the dealership today because I was ready to finally buy the car, but when I got there the car that I wanted was already sold so he showed me a 2009 LE. Since the 2009 is basically the same as the 2010, I decided that it was okay. Once I went into the office, he tried to tell me that the best he could offer me was MSRP which was nearly $19,000 when the week before he gave me a quote IN WRITING for $16,888 for a 2010. His reasoning was that the ""Cash for Clunkers program makes it so that they no longer can give discounts"" and that the quote he gave me before no longer applied which doesn't make any sense at all. He then proceeded to tell me that I would still be getting a good deal since there was a $1000 rebate which I can only use as a down payment. Again that doesn't make any sense since that didn't lower the price on the car at all. He acted like there were so many people that would love to buy this car for MSRP and that I would be making a big mistake to walk away as if there wont be any more cars tomorrow. \r \r I was so fed up that I walked out for the second time. I will never go back to Magic Toyota again even though I really wanted that Corolla. \r \r That was by far the worst car buying experience ever. I did not appreciate the bait and switch and all the high pressure sales tactics and lying to sell a car. NEVER GO HERE!!!! Pros: The bottle of cold water the salesman gave me Cons: Terrible sales tactics more

I LOVED this place. And I love my car! 3/12/2009

Wow. I was completely blown away to see negative reviews about Magic Toyota! I bought my AWESOME FJ Cruiser there about 6 months ago and found the whole experience to be wonderful. I had called them in advance and told them what I wanted and what I was willing to pay. When I showed-up, my new FJ was already detailed waiting for a test-drive! I hadn't told them I had a trade-in, so that slowed the process down a bit, but I ended up getting $500 over Blue Book on my trade-in too. So, what can i say? I've bought several cars in my life both new and used and I thought Magic Toyota was great. Pros: Lots to choose from. Nice people. Cons: hard to find a parking space more

Surely you cant USE my car when its in for service?????? 2/14/2009

I took my car in for service, after NINE days (which I thought was too long already) I phoned to find out where my car was, and was told it was going to be a couple more days.\r When it came back, thankfully working, it was COVERED in dog hair. I dont have a dog, and when my car was dropped off, it was in pristine condition inside. I also got: dirty boot marks, a couple of extra scratches and some take-out napkins, oh and somehow their 'test-drive' added 400 miles to the odometer too.\r \r THEY USED MY CAR!!!!!! that is not OK.\r \r If you want to leave lying, cheating, crooks in charge of your vehicle; take your car here. If you have ANY alternative at all, please consider it as these people dont deserve the business. Pros: They are not PROs Cons: untrustworthy lying cheating free-loaders. more

Worst Used Car Experience Ever 12/11/2007

If you want a deceptive dealership with terrible service this is the place for you. We just spent $35,000 on a 2006 4Runner. After we signed the paperwork and were taking delivery of the car we were informed that one of the keyless remotes was missing. They refused to provide us with one, saying that used cars were sold ""as-is"". We also discovered that there were no owners manuals in the vehicle, they intended to send us off with a complex vehicle (Including a Nav system) with no documentation. I requested a manual, they would not provide me with one, finally gave me a 2005 saying ""they are absolutely identical"" we have since found that there are many differences. I've worked my way up to the general sales manager and have been refused any satisfaction, they have told me some gems such as ""lots of things that are on a new car are missing on a used one"". None of the missing items were disclosed prior to the sale, I wonder how many other components we will discover are missing. Nice to see they take such pride in touting the benefits of the ""Toyota Certified Used Vehicle Program"". This is my worst car buying experience ever, find a better Toyota dealer, none can be any worse than this. more
