Worst dealership experience ever 7/6/2010

Six weeks after purchasing a used vehicle from Magic Toyota in February 2008 I learned that the car had been completely repainted on both sides (driver and passenger). This was an enormous shock because the car wasn't even two years old, appeared to be perfect, and was represented by the sales agent to be ""in like new condition."" We paid a premium for ""like new condition."" Every time we asked for service records, accident reports, etc. we were always pointed to the ""clean"" carfax report. Although service records were promised to us, they were never provided. We were most certainly misled as to the quality of the car, and most conventional consumers would agree that we had been flat out lied to. It is patent misrepresentation to put a damaged car on a lot at a price as if nothing were wrong with it. Not to mention the sales pitch that the car was ""like new."" If this isn't intent to mislead, I don't know what is.\r I met with the dealership owner/manager, who inspected the car and agreed that it was significant enough to warrant an adjustment - either credit toward another purchase or a ""trade."" I asked that the manager simply find me a replacement vehicle that was the same quality vehicle his dealership represented to me. More than six months of back-and-forth ensued during which the dealership mostly kept mum unless I proactively called to get an update on the purported ""vehicle search."" Despite acceptable cars appearing all over the market, the only Solaras purchased by Magic Toyota were ones that expressly did not match the conditions stipulated and many times had far more miles, bumps and dings, and sometimes were not even the trim model I had purchased. \r As time dragged on, it became apparent that the dealership had no intention of finding a replacement and this was simply a stall tactic to avoid me. There is so much more to this story – but in the essence of time, let’s suffice to say I have not pursued resolution further as it is clear that a mutually acceptable remedy cannot be reached and I remain completely dissatisfied.\r Every time I step foot in my vehicle I am reminded of the deceit propagated by Magic Toyota and my utter detest for its business practices. Please be wary of this dealership and take any used vehicle you wish to purchase from Magic Toyota to an authorized mechanic for a thorough evaluation prior to purchase. Pros: Polite customer service - at first Cons: Deceitful sales tactics, misrepresentation more
