Great customer service 10/2/2008

I had a whole differant experience at Bayshore. I thought the front desk was very friendly. I got an awesome hair cut from kerry in that past ,but am realistic with what can and can not be done with my hair.......OH and by the way to the last writer. DHUR.......KWOF is closing and most of there emploees where trained at Neroli's school in Downtown Pros: open 7 days ,online booking ,rewards program Cons: price and need to schedule in advance more

Big mistake 10/1/2008

I work at Bayshore and was excited to have the Neroli Salon open there.... until I went there. The front desk staff was so snotty! I was quoted a price and was charged double (they needed to use an extra amount of color for my chin length bob). My hair was purple (not the color I wanted by any stretch of the imagination). The stylist ran out of time and had another client waiting and left me with dripping wet hair, sent me on my way with a, "it will look cute curly." I spent over $100 to look like a wet dog. I was so embarassed when I got the bill I paid and left. The next day I came back and asked why I had been charged double the price I had been told (they never said anything during the service) --and my hair is NOT long... they looked at me like I was crazy and told me I needed more color. I heard one woman say, "What's HER problem?" Well, lesson learned. Like I said, I work at Bayshore... I have for seven years and have a lot of customers who ask me about Neroli... I tell them about my experience and send them to Kwof. I have never been there but the stylists come in all the time, they are nice and friendly and I have gotten many thank yous. Neroli has really made their bed. Pros: location Cons: attitude, quality, attitude... more

Great place all around 9/29/2008

First of all, I would just like to say that I work for the Neroli company. It is a great place to work and a great place to get services. I highly recommend going there. One of my friends got her hair colored at another salon in the area and paid over $200, she got the same thing done at Neroli after I recommended her, for less than half the price and said it was the best color she ever had. As for the previous negative comments, I would just like to say that its sad that former scorned employees would write such outlandish comments. Its obvious that they weren't doing their jobs correctly and were terminated because Neroli holds such high standards. Neroli is one of the best salon and spas to go to when you want to relax and get a great service whether its a massage, facial, or hair. Everyone really works hard at what they do and they are all wonderful. If you don't believe me, then go to the Bayshore location and go see Kanin to get your nails done. If he can't please you and make your day great then no one can, he is amazing. When someone has a bad experience, they are more likely to tell everyone they see than if they have a great one. The front desk girls are probably some of the nicest girls you will meet. The previous comment about the IBW staff asking if you need a bag for small purchase is because the company is trying to be as green as possible, and follow the Aveda mission. If putting a few products in your oversized purse is a problem, we would be happy to give you a bag. Guests are always top priority at Neroli and IBW, we strive to make your experience as wonderful as possible. If you are reading this review and decide to visit and are happy with your experience, it would be very much appreciated if you left feedback about it. With over 50,000 guests to date, I understand that it is hard to please everyone, but there is a reason that we make the top salon and spa list in the nation every year. Pros: Everything Cons: Sometimes its hard to get in, but thats not a bad thing because they are obviously doing something right more

Fabulous and Relaxing 9/28/2008

Neroli is by far the place to go in the city for great services and relaxation. I first went to Neroli (brookfield) for a spa day and didn't know what to expect. I had the BEST experience I've ever had at a Spa! I had the Neroli Facial with Bridgette and Neroli Massage with Michael..both were exquisite. From the moment I was greeted with a warm cup of Aveda tea, to completing my services, everyone was so wonderful and inviting. I felt like family. I would recommend everyone to come and experience Neroli. I truly believe they are the best thing this city has to offer!!! Pros: Highly educated staff, 5 star service Cons: hard to get into on Saturdays more

best massage and mens haircuts 9/27/2008

Michael at brookfield is incredible. normally I would not see a man for a massage but Michael is worth every dollar you spend. I go whenever I get a chance. Holly is also great for mens haircuts. Pros: excellent service Cons: can be hard to get in on the weekends more

The best service I've had!!!!!! 9/25/2008

My friends bought me a gift certificate for this salon for my birthday! After reading the reviews here I went with no expectation of great service, and I couldnt had been farther from what I got! from the moment I walked in the door I was greeted with coffee! Jennifer did my salt body scrub and was amazing! I then had my haircut by Joseph! He is truly an artist of hair! I came home and had tears of joy at how young and slim he has made me look! I travel alot and have been to my fair share of aveda salons! this is by far the best I could have even hoped for! even ruth who was mentoring under joseph and did a conditioning treatment on my hair was great! massaged my hands and head! I couldnt say enough great things about my experience! Thanks Joseph! I cant wait for my next adventure with ya! Pros: Great hair knowledge, wonderful friendly service! Cons: maybe feeding the parking meter lol! more

Worst Place to Work, Your opnion does not matter unless it alines with Neroli's 6/25/2008

Never have I worked with such amazing technician's who live in fear of voicing any opinions or concerns, due to the Administrative office and upper management. During orientation they should tell you that your opinion matters...only if it is the same as "Neroli's". If you want to take a trip back to memory lane this is the place to work it will bring you back to your grade school days were finger pointed and tattle tailing was acceptable. Neroli seems to have forgotten the GOLDEN RULE, kindness is contagious! You want appositive atmosphere create an open environment and listen to your staff members there human not robots! For the LOVE get with the 21 century! Pros: Technicians, get recomandations first though Cons: Unfair degrating work enviroment, consistant in negative reinforcement more

treat you like children 4/8/2008

well here it is... first off i went to school at IBW and i would like to say i should have gone to MATC and spent half the money. i was very disappointed with most of the teachers and also with the staff. very unfriendly almost like it's bad to be nice there. sounds fun huh? it seemed everyday they had to complain about me doing something wrong, and when i was trying to learn and really ask questions, i want the answers to, i would get written up, i am pretty sure it wasn't just me. learning is supposed to be fun, not making sure a teacher will write you up because you asked the wrong question. come on, this is supposed to be the best! most of the girls at the front desk are so rude and snobby. what's your deal? aren't you supposed to be helping me? a girl and the front desk actually handed me a bag to put things in i had purchased, i had to ask her for a bag. not cool. as for neroli, i have received many treatments there and they do not follow instructions on what they should be giving you in their treatment, in other words, cutting corners. on the up side i did have a lovely time with bella! wonderful lady! what a joke! i was supposed to get a good education from learning from these women! get off your high aveda horse and stop acting like this is grade school, we are adults not children! some respect for us all please. Pros: bella was very friendly Cons: dirty work spaces, who else is using this wax? more

High End Salon????? I don't think so! 2/15/2008

Previous writers are correct. Amazing how you can tell when an owner writes a glowing review. Only a robot trainer working for Neroli would refer to customers as "guests". I have obtained services at both Bayshore and downtown. The front desk staff at Bayshore was so nasty and unfriendly that I felt uncomfortable from the moment I stepped in the door. The stylist was the only reason I ever returned and without fail I was treated poorly by everyone in the place, except the stylist. I don't credit Neroli with the talent of the stylist, she earned that on her own. I tried downtown hoping to find a friendlier atmosphere, unfortunately not the case. With the excception of one young lady at the front desk, everyone seemed angry to work there. After reading these reviews I now understand why. And what validation for parking downtown...I was never told of this and I have been there several times. I always try to give people more than one chance and I did so with both locations. Consistantly poor customer service, consistantly unpleasant people (with one exception) and for a salon trying to pass itself off as high end....dirty, dirty, dirty. Sorry Mindy, you lost my business because of who you work for. I will not be treated so poorly when I am dishing out top dollar. Pros: That I won't be going there anymore. Cons: The entire place. more

RUN, DON'T WALK.....AWAY!!!! 12/8/2007

Bar none, the worst experience of my life.....I would have been better off going to a beauty school for a haircut. The "Senior" stylist who chopped off my hair listened to NOTHING I said regarding my lifestyle, needs or wants. She cut 8 inches off my hair and then gave me an uneven, choppy, NOTHING style. One side was 2 inches shorter than the other. When I went back for a repair, from the "head" stylist, she actually CHUCKLED and said that she couldn't find a "line" to the cut and that it would take 18 MONTHS, at least, to grow out decently!!!!!! When I demanded my money back, they gave me a GIFT CERTIFICATE! As if I would EVER set foot in that hellhole again.....Please people, do NOT waste your time, money or sanity at this place. It is a disaster waiting to happen........Also, everyone knows that Aveda color is the worst---turns blonde hair orange and fades faster than drugstore color.... Cons: IT'S ALL A CON more

Pretty Woman 11/20/2007

Have you ever seen the movie Pretty Woman? Remember the part where Julia Roberts walks in to the store on Rodeo and is snubbed by the snooty staff? No need to travel all the way to Beverly Hills when you can get that right in the heart of the Third Ward on Chicago Avenue. I have never felt so invisible and unwelcome in a spa in my life. I was greeted very coldly and had very cold reception from my technicians. I swear if I would have walked in to any other spa in the area and dropped the kind of money I did that day I would have had a much warmer response. I arrived at least 20 minutes before my first appointment was supposed to start and my services were rushed. Sorry you are having a bad day ladies, not my problem. I am so done with this place. People come to a spa to feel better about themselves not to feel like they are a nuisance. Pros: Nice location - good for those who work downtown Cons: What is up with the staff? Isn't Milwaukee a little too Mid-West to have Euro Trash attitude? more

Complimentary Service 8/29/2007

I moved to Milwaukee recently and was recommended to Neroli from a neighbor. I am very happy to have found this place because it reminds me of where I was going back home. Its very modern, the people at the front desk are always very welcoming and I leave looking and feeling wonderful! My ony complaint was that being new to the area I did not know the front entrance. I arrived at the back down and had to be escorted to the front. It was kind of ackward when everyone looks at you. Beside that, I strongly recommend checking out the place! Pros: friendly, stylist very educated, convenient Cons: not clear on entrance more

Saddened by other comments 7/30/2007

I was shocked and surprised when I read the negative reviews. I've been receiving services from Neroli downtown for years and was thrilled when they opened their Brookfield and Bayshore locations. The talent of their staff and their training programs are outstanding - I've "bounced around" from one tech to another due to my crazy schedule and always receive outstanding service whether I'm receiving a manicure, massage, or haircut. I'm consistently treated with warmth and courtesy by their reception staff and reservation center and on the rare occasion an error occurred with an appointment or service they've handled my complaint with sincere concern and resolved it immediately. My friends and family also go to Neroli - in fact we trade gift cards at almost every holiday and it's a joy to receive - and I've never heard any of the feedback I see here. My sister hosted her entire bridal party in Brookfield on her wedding day and it went off without a hitch! It must be true that people are 100 times more likely to complain on-line than to compliment so I'm happy to add my compliments about this truly outstanding company! They've even just added on-line reservations to make life easier for those of us juggling kids, work, and crazy schedules as well as a rewards program to earn free products and services - I hope you give them a chance and decide for yourself. Pros: Numerous locations, can get every service, validate parking downtown Cons: Lockers at Bayshore could be larger. more

Get ready to be wowed, JK!!!! 6/24/2007

There is so many things, where do I begin. Well, let's start with go somewhere else! No joke. I don't think the value is there. If I spend the money I want the quality of the service and level of expertise to be there. The robes for my costly service were rags and the equipment for the services I had done were out-of-date. What the heck am I paying premium dollar for then? I had a fire alarm go off during my massage at Bayshore. The staff seems upset all of the time. Maybe because they are being treated the same way the clients are? Just a guess. So other than the overpriced services, run down facilities, fire alarms, services booked incorrectly and moody staff, what the hey, come on down! You'll be sure to see my smiling face there! Go to your local Super Cuts and or Fantastic Sam's ( for all you patriotic folks) and experience the same level of "excellence". Pros: There always available when my salon can't fit me in Cons: Well, did you read my review? more

Too bad "simply the best" works for Neroli 5/31/2007

Funny how you can totally tell when an employee is posting a review about their salon...its the only positive review among all of the other reviews of clients who had to compromise or loose out on a professional and enjoyable experience. Let me break it down for all of you; when a company grows to this size and forgets about all of the "kinks" it needs to work out at its existing locations its not worth your TIME or MONEY. Everything is an inconvenience to the staff. Policies, services, prices, expectations are always fluctuating. My co-worker received a whole hair color free because she changed her mind and I have had multiple appointments lost because of their incompetent staff and I got jack! I don't want anything for free I just want some one to accomodate me to the best of their ability and apologize. As I have tried to keep my patience with this company I have realized there is no use putting faith in to a company that does not give a rip about their clients. We may live in a smaller urban area, but don't forget folks you are surrounded by awesome salons and spas like Carenza, VICI Capelli, GAIA Microspa and Actea just to name a few. Get out there and see what talent and service is like...Leave Neroli in the dirt where they belong. Pros: Locations Cons: Everything else about Neroli more

The Best Technicians Around 3/6/2007

I've had a wonderful experience every time I come in and I must say, its because of the people. I'm sort of a spa junkie and have had my hair done, manicures, pedicures, massages, facials (you name it) all around town and I always come back here. Erin has done a fabulous job with my cut and color, which I always get compliments on. And I can't say I've ever had a bad spa service with anyone I've seen! In fact, if there is ever something that needs "tweaking" or isn't my quite my style, they've always been quick to make any necessary adjustments, no questions asked. I have a feeling with the previous reviews, there were a few disgruntled "former employees" venting here...reminds me of retaliatory feedback on Ebay, if ya know what I mean! But everyone has the right to their opinion, I guess! I also try out other spas and while I enjoy the treatments, there always seems to be something that goes wrong, but they always get it right at Neroli! Pros: Open Later at Night and on Sundays! Cons: Parking more

A bride's nightmare 12/3/2006

I had booked appointments for my entire bridal party and me to have manicures, pedicures and updo's for my wedding, plus I was having my make-up done. I scheduled well in advance (thank goodness!) a 'trial run' for my hair and make-up. When I went in for the trial run I was informed that we were not going to be able to bring in any snacks on the day of the wedding but were welcome to purchase expensive trays of sandwiches from them. Also, they had remodeled and eliminated any sort of "private" room for the bridal party to hang out between services. The girl who did my "updo" ran out of time after an HOUR and I wound up with a half-pinned, half-curled MESS! She then sent me to the make-up person who didn't listen to a word I said about what colors worked for me. ("Dark lipstick makes my lips look small." 'Well let's just try it.... oh you're right.') ) I left looking like I wasn't even wearing makeup and with a halfway, pathetic attempt at an updo. At least the manager agreed to give me a discount on the price. I immediately cancelled all the appointments for me and my bridal party. Thank goodness I found out in time so it didn't ruin what turned out to be a magical wedding day! (Thanks to the fantastic stylists at Gaia Salon & Spa in Greendale who really saved the day!) more

rude and arrogant staff, way overpriced and not a pleasant experience at all. Just terrible. 8/15/2006

This place is not the place to go if you like great customer service and appreciation or even if you like an experienced technician with a plesant attitude for that matter. The staff all consist of very arrogant stuck up young females who could care less about you enjoying yourexperience. I was told the price for my servces would total $140 and when it was time to pay, they charged my credit card $280! When i asked about it, they simply said that someone "misquoted me on the phone when i made the appt". This is completely unacceptable to charge me double because of a mistake one of their employees made. Then the had the nerve to ask me if i wanted to leave a tip! What an insane bunch of people. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. Go somewhere where you will be respected and appreciated without being pressured to bu all their silly little spa products that will do the same thing as a over the counter beauty product from wal mart. Pros: Absolutely nothing Cons: Absolutely everything about the place more

User review by juliemt 1/17/2006

the staff at neroli is fantastic! everyone is so friendly and the therapists are by far the best in the city. definately worth the price more

User review by pattyperry 1/11/2006

I had one of the worst pedicures ever. I could have done my own nails better, quicker, and obviously for a lot less. This spa is way over priced. Perhaps they should spend money on better staff and less on billboards. more
