Fabulous Salon 10/13/2011

I recently moved to Milwaukee from Chicago, so when I needed a haircut this past week my search for a salon began. I did my research and decided to give Neroli a try as I liked their convenience of multiple locations and being open everday and into the evening on weekdays. From the moment I arrived to their Bayshore location to the moment I left I was attended to and felt at ease. Plus my hair dresser, Jamie Lynn, was fantastic!! Being the fall season I was ready for a new look and what I loved was that she listened to what I wanted and then made suggestions. The result was better than I anticipated!! There is no question that I have found my go to salon and hope to check out their spa soon. more

SKIP IT: Neroli Salon & Spa 3/28/2011

THEY ARE AWFUL. This past Saturday I was supposed to have my trial run for wedding hair and makeup at Neroli.I drove 2 hours from IL to be there and just 30 min before my appointment the salon called me (mind you I scheduled this 3 months ago because I live in another state!) that the hair technician, Samantha, is no longer available on my wedding day. I show up, they have no back up scheduled for my wedding or for the trial, everyone is making excuses, no manager onsite. Chris at the front desk said "I barely work here" and "I don't really know what happened" and Samantha had the nerve to say "At least we called you today instead of letting you do a trial run and then calling you next week to let you know I wasn't available" I just don't have any confidence in the staff there. I had to ask to speak to a manager and none were on site, all employees were making ridiculous excuses, and I'm still baffled why Chris sent Samantha, the tech who bailed on me, out to talk to me...I didn't see the point. When the manager was notified I received a nice VM from her, but I was too upset to talk to her. She sent me an email saying she "could talk to the owner to see if they could do something" REALLY? I can't trust those employees to be there or provide quality customer service to me or my wedding party, let alone provide backups in case someone became unavailable. I have no faith the same thing wouldn't happen to others planning their wedding hair/makeup-this is a stress brides just don't need! I decided then and there to pull my entire wedding party-hey, it's over $1k worth of biz in a recession (I did the math). Worst customer service I've ever received. Do not chance your wedding day to them! more

NEROLI Aveda Salon & Spa 12/20/2010

I am a regular customer and now know many of the employees personally. I don't know of any employees who are unhappy; in fact, everyone that I know is long term and has nothing but positive comments regarding their employment. They are all extremely professional in the workplace and provide the utmost in customer care. This has been the only salon where I can walk out the door and go directly to my planned destination without stopping to adjust my stylist's work. I guarantee that there is not another salon in this state that offers the degree of pampering that Neroli offers. I would not be surprised if the negative comments left on this site were coming from Neroli's competitors. more

addressing bad reviews 10/9/2010

Ive worked at Neroli for 15 years and it is the best place that Ive ever worked. Ive never experienced more professionalism, kindness and realness than at neroli.i think that i can say in complete honesty from my heart that neroli is the real deal and all these bad reviews shock me because i live this experience 5 days out of the week and love working for this company and know the time that they'''the management'put into the experience that they want the guest to enjoy and that is their mission bar none before anything else!i am completely surprised and stunned really that people would say these things about the place i work at ,that ive known for as long as ive known!ive never felt more at home than at nerol.i know what youre thinking,i am not brain washed,i know for a fact that susan lives and breathes her business to make it a wonderful and amazing experience for whoever chooses to come to our place...i just cannot believe the things that people are saying...i am dumbfounded...we strive to give our guests an'experience 'like no other...we work so hard and go to endless education to keep ourselves current always. more

Went in to relax, left angry... 5/22/2010

I went in for a massage and haircut in hopes of a relaxing spa day-- what I got was the farthest thing from relaxing. I was 5 mins late and told that I could not have the full body massage I had reserved. Instead I got a 30 minute upper back massage and the masseuse did not seem to have any sense of where my tension was or how to get rid of it. She told me we had to cut it short so I wouldn't run late for my hair appointment. I sat waiting for my haristylist for 15 minutes. My 'haircut and style' lasted a grand total of 30 mins. She barely cut anything off and although I asked her to straighten it I left looking like I had just gotten out of bed. I had to come home and re-do my hair myself before I could go out...this was a horrendous experience. I left feeling angry and cheated out of over $100. I don't think the masseuse or hairstylist wanted to be there and they certainly weren't in tune with me. Horrible. Pros: None Cons: Workers don't want to be there more

Are you serious????? 3/15/2010

Perhaps they are overbooked, but I walked in for a haircut and was told they had time. Turns out they must have squezed me in. I wasn't in a hurry but the stylist was. Is that relaxing? Pros: location Cons: rushed not pampered more

Bad 3/12/2010

What people are saying is true, and the employee's are forced to write positive comments on here to boost their rating. Seriously, this company needs to get it together, I don't know how they ever expanded as far as they did. Pros: none more

The Devil Wears Aveda 3/11/2010

there is a lack of leadership and management in both the salons and beauty school. I was an advid customer until things seemed to fall apart. The staff seems confused and lost, with no management available to answer questions. An overall lack of professionalism, from the services by technicians to some of the staff memebers. My boyfriend hates going to these places because the staff has to be over animated, greeting you the moment you walk in the door with a cheesey line. The over all feeling he and I get is of fake politeness, and a sense of being forced to offer service through gritting teeth. It seems like the employees are afraid, as if they work for the same women in the movie "the devil wears prada". overall, I will not support this company anymore. I have loved some technicians in the past, but since most of the good ones seemed to have left I can't help but wonder what's happening to them at this spa.At the spa I had my hair cut and colored, and it turned out terrible. Paying as much as they ask seems rediculous when the technician can't even cut my hair straight! Over priced as well. Pros: nice layouts and products Cons: management, service, professionalism more

I adore this place 2/24/2010

I've been going to Neroli for my hair cuts and other spa services (massage, mani, pedi, etc.) for over two years. I have been extraordinarily satisfied with my experience and have had strangers ask me where I have my hair cut (honest to goodness!). I see Ashley at the Downtown location and she is exceptional. I truly love it there and find it to be one of the few places I can truly unwind, relax, and destress. Ultimately if others want to believe that employees write these reviews, so be it, but I've gone for myself over an extended period of time adn have been very happy with my experience. Pros: atmosphere, quality, staff Cons: difficult to get an appointment in a short time frame more

Absolutely loved my massage! 2/23/2010

I was apprehensive to go to Neroli in the 3rd ward at first because I had seen some of the bad reviews, but I'm so glad I did. My massage was amazing, and the atmosphere before and after my massage was most pleasant! Plus after my massage I was able to jump in the steam shower to really relax. I know some of you have mentioned that salon staff must be writing the reviews, well I do not work at Neroli, am a poor college student but would definitely say that getting a massage at Neroli is definitely worth every penny! Pros: Very peaceful, friendly and helpful staff, the steam shower! Cons: A little pricier than most (but worth it!) more

Over rated 2/20/2010

Over rated, over priced. Not enough attention to the small things for the $ paid. Also did not see the feedback as positive info. I think they may need to change some management to be a bit more in tune with what the customer wants and listen to feedback. Heard that it is a family run company and no one really cares Cons: Over priced more

Overpriced and poor quality 1/12/2010

I agree with the other reviewer - salon staff must be writing the reviews. No one who has gone to this salon seemed happy. The stylists are very inexperienced and really cannot do any consultation. Most of and customers were complaining the hair color itched and burned their scalp the night I was there.. I was one of about 3 people there that night complaining about the product. The stylists told three (!!) customers they would "add sugar" to the product and it was "all natural product " The other customers I talked too said their hair was noticebly dry and brittle and they felt the place was an overpriced sort of "super cuts." There was little skill and no one felt their color or cut justified the cost or difficulty in booking an appointment through the "call center." If I pay salon prices, I would like a salon and not a factory. Pros: Overpriced and comparable to "super cuts" Cons: pretentious and untrained; cheap hair color products more

Ugh. Chopped 7/31/2009

I was very excited when recommended to get a hair cut here. Been for facials and other services before and always nothing short of excellent. Extremely disappointed with my hair cut from the senior stylist. He asked if he could cut off an inch. I left with about 4 gone and my friends asking me who gave me the aweful layers. Ugh. I should have been forewarnes when my girlfriend went there last year and got a Bon Jovi mullet cut. She didn't wear her hair down for over a month after that. I guess I just think its your hair and no one has permission to do what they think will look good without your permission. It takes a long time to grow it out. I cancelled my color for the next appt. I'm sad because that part he may have done a good job at. Just refuse to let someone have another chance when they lost my trust the first time. Funny thing is it didn't look bad when I left the salon because he had spent an hour w an iron on it before I left. Like I have time to do that every day. And ihad said when I came in that I hate curly/girly hair and go for more edgy. Whatever. Spa services only for me from now on. Back to Matty at Erik or Beauty. . . Sorry more

Forever a Neroli Girl 6/12/2009

This is the first spa I ever went to and that was years ago. I have dipped and dabbled with others but none can compare in quality and service. Everytime you can expect the same treatment. I go to the downtown location. Upon arrival youre greeted with water or tea and a warm towel for your hands. As you wait for your team member to come and get you, you can look at all the Aveda products-which smell wonderful. Then your led to the changing room and finally to your services. I think what really has me coming back time and time again is the service. You will always get the same level of quality service. I never had to worry about how clean or sanitary it is. I never had to complain or felt uncomfortable. I have always been able to relax my stresses away with Neroli. Thank you Neroli for having such high standards!! Pros: Ambiance, prices, service, excellance more

Best hair and nails ever 12/14/2008

I get my hair cut with Kimberly at brookfield and i always enjoy my experience. I have been seeing her for two years now and she recommended that i see Jill for nails. She bragged about what a great job she did, so i had to try her out. I couldnt be happier i always look foward to coming to neroli. The girls always make me smile, and forget about the stress in my life. Pros: beautiful atmosphere, friendly environment Cons: nothing more

Best Spa Day I've ever had! 12/2/2008

I've been going to the Neroli in Brookfield for years and just thought I'd share my experience with others who may have not tried one of the Neroli's yet. Every time I come here it is a truly a wonderful experience. The front desk girls are so friendly and truly seem to care about my needs. They greeted me so warm and friendly that it kind of surprised me...you just don't see that much anymore. I love all of them but I recently had a facial with Erica who was so fabulous and sweet. I also had a Spa Mani/Pedi with Alex who also was so talented and nice. The one thing I like most about this place is the amount of services they offer, I definitely intend to try all of them. I've yet to have a service that wasn't extraordinary! Pros: location, service options, trained staff Cons: none more

Awesome yoga! 11/17/2008

If you are looking for semi-private yoga lessons, Neroli at Bayshore has a fabulous Iyengar instructor. Jason is a skilled, professional instructor who caters the class to the individual needs of the students. It is a fun workout that will keep you coming back for more, whether you are old, young, advanced or a beginner. I have taken many yoga classes in the past, and this is the first instructor who has kept me interested and excited. I couldn't recommend him more highly and the price is extremely reasonable. If you have any interest in yoga, you must take a class with Jason! more

Terrible Customer Service 10/24/2008

I'm in a wedding tomorrow. I tried to make an appointment last week with Kim at Bayshore, who gave me a great haircut last month, but she was totally booked. I asked if anyone else is available and the receptionist on the phone set an appointment with Maya for 9:00 am. What the receptionist didn't tell me was that Maya works in Brookfield. Am I suppose to know this? When I showed up at Bayshore, neither the receptionist or the manager could offer me any explanation. They told me "I wasn't in the computer" and "the computer could have been acting up or they could have made a mistake". Weak apologies and weaker explanations don't make my hair look good in my friend's wedding pictures. more

Talented, Friendly and Professional 10/7/2008

I recently moved to Milwaukee and had been asking around for recommendations about where to get my hair done. I'm sort of picky, so I asked a LOT of people their opinions. I kept hearing about Neroli over and over. When I asked where they were located I was happy to hear they had a location at Bayshore and the Third Ward! When I walked in I was promptly greeted with a smile and hot tea. The girls at the front desk were really helpful, and were happy to answer all my questions. They treat you really well when you are there. And my guess as to why they refer to you as a "guest", is because they treat you like you were a guest in their home. You get an awesome shoulder massage and then scalp massage with your shampoo! My hair turned out fantastic and I've already booked my next couple appointments. I recommend Neroli to everyone who asks, and after visiting both of the locations closest to me, I understand why so many people told me to go there! Pros: Staff is friendly and talented Cons: parking can be difficult more

Best Customer Service Ever! 10/4/2008

The first time I walked into the 3rd ward location,I was unsure on how to feel, everyone was in black and extremely attractive. But, they are sooo nice and sweet. Neroli does have a call center, so you are not calling the front desk directly, but if go enough you get to know the people that work in the call center and they get to know you and they will do everything they can to get you in. One time when my stylist was booked, I asked them if there was anything they could do, they said they would get back to me and they got me in! The owner was in the salon one day and she seemed very interested in talking to the people that were getting their hair done, very approacable. I am getting married next year and cant wait to have them do my hair! They will even arrange limo's and food for you! Pros: You leave feeling pampered everytime. more
