Being new in town I had no idea where to take my truck once it broke down on the side of hwy 290. After researching on city search I had it towed to Ben White. My father is a mechanic in Arkansas so I always call him with my auto questions. After my dad ran me through a check list of questions via the phone, he gave me his diagnosis of what was wrong with my truck. My dad did some research to figure out about how much this repair should cost me. After Ben White Auto ran their diagnostics on my truck I spoke with Oscar (as everybody else seems to) and sure enough he told me the problem was just as we suspected. They repaired my truck in a timely manner and to my relief it was actually a little less than my father told me I should expect. They also allowed me to pay over the phone and made arrangements for me to pick my truck up to accommodate my work hours. My truck has very high mileage but now its as good as new. It is rare that I find a place that I feel such loyalty to but they really have my recommendation and for what it?s worth as an unbiased 3rd party mechanic, they have my dad's recommendation too. I found Ben White Automotive (South) to be a refreshing Auto-service business. I called ahead of time and told them what was up, they told me to bring it in when I could, and estimated what it would cost me to get it fixed. I dropped it off, he called me a few hours after to confirm what was wrong and the price to fix it, and I came back and picked it up a few hours later. It saved me a few hundred dollars from what the dealership was going to charge me. They were great! more

I highly recommend Ben White Automotive! I am a female in my 20's and taking my car to be repaired can be daunting to say the least. I knew that I needed to get my front brakes repaired and being right after Christmas, didn't have a lot of extra cash. I took my car in for an estimate and was initially told it would be around $370, which I most certainly did not have to spend. The man behind the counter (Charles?) gave me a list of the work that they recommended be done, which included replacing the brake pads and the rotors. But then he said that they like to repair cars to their original condition and that replacing the rotors wasn't necessary for safety issues (which I of course, would never have known) if I needed to save some money. He also told me that they use factory-quality parts which are more expensive but if I wanted to find something cheaper, they would install them for me. All in all, I felt like he was extremely helpful and above all, honest. Very reassuring as I don't know much about cars. I feel like if I would've gone to a chain like Just Brakes, I would never have been told it's not completely necessary to replace the rotors and could have spent a lot more money. Pros: honest and quick Cons: not much, other than somewhat easy to miss the shop entrance more

I had brake and shock problems with the vehicle. The repair technician knew what was wrong as soon as he test drove the car and the necessary repairs were made. The work was done by the end of day as promised. The car drove much better and has been problem free for three months now. more

We were recommended to Ben White Automotive - South recently when my wife's '99 Jeep quit on the side of IH35 one morning on the commute to work. After being towed to the shop, they determined the cause of the problem, fixed it quickly and the charges were very reasonable. Since then, the Jeep started experiencing very high oil pressure readings so I called Oscar (the shop manager) and told him that my wife was on the way to have it checked out. When she got there, they pulled the car into the shop, determined that the sensor was defective (Oscar had already ordered one from the parts house based on our conversation) and they replaced it immediately! Once again, the charges were very reasonble and the service was nearly instantaneous. Pros: Honest and Trustworthy more

I took my SUV to Ben White Automotive for a regular oil change. At the last minute, I asked if the tires could also be rotated. They gladly added that to the services to be done to my car. When it came time to pay everything was throughly explained to me and everyone was very friendly. I decided to take my car to a service center rather than a quick lube place so that I could get a feel for whether or not I would be comfortable taking my vehicle there if there was something wrong. I will take my car back for an oil change or a repair with confidence. It's set back from the road a little bit, so be watchful when you get close! more
