Excellent Work 4/9/2012

I am sincerely appreciative for the excellent work performed by Ackerman’s technician, Don. Don was professional, informative, and has a wonderful sense of humor. It was a pleasure seeing someone execute their job with such care. I love the new system I had installed! In addition, Michael, the Security Representative, was also a pleasure to work with and his expertise kept the ball rolling. From what I can tell, the Ackerman staff members present a business model of courtesy and professionalism that is rare in the current business arena. more

This is to acknowledge the superb services of Ackerman’s technician Ben in installing our new system at my home. Ben displayed his professionalism by installing the system patiently, explaining step-by-step to my full satisfaction. As a layman far removed from science and technology, Ben's unassuming and personable style impressed me and convinced me about the efficacy and reliability of the system. He didn't rush the job. I have no reservation to recommend him for my friends and associates. Ben even refused to accept my token tip of $35.00 with his disarming smile! I’m glad Ackerman takes pride in who they employ. more

Unhappy Customer 8/1/2011

What a disappointment!! I've been with the company just over a year and while the monthly rates may sound good their service sucks. I totally understand a comment submitted by another writer pertaining to price gouging. I recently had windows replaced in my house. I lost two days of work waiting for technicians to replace magnet contacts on my windows. The first technician stated I needed magnets and the second stated I needed magnet and wireless contacts. Neither were able to complete the job after arriving at my home and required a third appointment for something relatively simple. Now we're talking three days off from work. Are you kidding me? On each visit my service rate and item cost has been increasing. When I questioned the service manager pertaining to the price increases he forgot that I was the paying customer and began yelling on the phone. Had the first technician been aware of what is needed on the visit there definitely shouldn't have been a need for a second or third visit. What happened to reading a service ticket? I caught this gouge before there was full penetration. I'll go back to the company I was with for 15 years where they know something about costumer service. This was not the first issue I've had pertaining to poor service for a relatively simple service call. Mind you, I've had the same alarm system just different monitoring services. "I know" there was nothing complicated about these calls. more

Great Customer Service 7/11/2011

I just wanted to write about the great customer service I got from Joey at Ackerman Security, the technician who made a service call to my home today. I was scheduled for an early morning service call, but my schedule "fell apart". I called Joey to let him know that I needed to reschedule. Late morning I called him and asked if there was any way he could fit me in at any point later in the day. He said he'd have to check his schedule and he'd call me back. He called back in less than 5 minutes and was able to "fit me in". I know that he didn't have to do this and I very much appreciate that he made the extra effort for me. He was friendly and professional throughout. more

Superior 6/9/2011

I enjoyed speaking with the rep at Ackerman and thank them for their time. We had a Mr. Hal Bullard come to our home to install your security system today. I wanted to let all know how friendly and very informative he was to my husband and myself. We will always request him to come out if we will need any further equipment. We also have some neighbors that are interested and I will indeed tell them about Ackerman Security! more

Donot Use 6/3/2011

I had a horrible time with ackerman and have given my business to another company. From the top down many layoffs need to start happening. One of my investment houses were broken into while monitored by ackerman. The alarm never went off. I called and a tech was going to come out right away. I was told between 1 and 3. I got a call at 3:55 from a rep to say he was on his way. I told him forget I left that house. He says he just got the notice. The appointment was reset for Friday between 10 and 12. At 12 I get a call that a rep was finishing off on a job and would be with me as soon as he could. Note, I am paying for this service and these times were set by them and now I must wait. The service overall has been the worst in my life. 40 minutes on the phone in total with the call been hung up twice and 4 hours waiting for nothing You would be a fool to use them. more

A representative came to my home last night from Ackerman Secuity. His name is Gary Hackney and he was the nicest man. After having my home broken into earlier in the week, he made me feel a whole lot better. He is very professional and personable and just a nice man. Great Customer Service 4/12/2011

My domestic partner of 9 years passed away in late December, I called Ackerman’s office to cancel and reschedule an appointment to have a technician come out to my home to talk about the move of my alarm equipment from one location to another. Today in speaking with Tamesha, not only did she display stellar customer service, but she was on her game and took care of everything I needed and I must say, I hung up knowing I wouldn’t have to call back again for the same issue. Being in Customer Service for 30 years and being responsible myself for many years in a call center in management, I will tell you that Tamesha is a Gold Star!!! She was friendly, polite and very well spoken Tamesha maked a difficult situation feel good! more

I want to compliment Amy Ash, in sales, as well as Sean Rick and Frank Holley in service for their prompt, professional service, delivered with courtesy and pleasant personalities. Ackerman is the first company I have encountered in a very long time that lives up to its advertising claims...period. No gimmicks, no bait and switch...really and truly just $18.95 a month. All three called ahead, arrived on time and did exactly what they said they would. They were patient with my questions, my endless stairs and even my five dogs! I am happy to call myself a new Ackerman customer. more

Decided to leave Ackerman 2/6/2011

I had to be fair that custom service at Ackerman used to be fine and in some cases quite good, which is part of the reason I did not object the rate increase (yes, they will increase the rate without your prior consent, citing this in a fine line of their contract -- why didn't the sales mention about this?). Their custom service got terrible these days. The two representatives I talked to recently were just plain rude. Bye bye, Ackerman. more

Decided to leave Ackerman 2/6/2011

I've been using Ackerman for a while and it has been a good experience. I had to say that the custom service used to be okay and in some cases quite nice. The last two calls I made were ugly. The associates were rude and unable to help. I guess with the bad economic times they've fired too many people but unfortunately they obviously got rid of the good ones. more
