Review content:
In November of 2004, my family was victim of a house fire, thankfully no person was home. But one member of our family was at home – a black miniature schnauzer – our dog Maxie. The hard working men and women of the CFD somehow, in a house full of thick black smoke, were able to locate Maxie lying unconscious and not breathing at the foot of the stairs. They brought her out of the house and were able to resuscitate her. We took Maxie to the Covedale Animal Hospital, and when our lives were out-of-whack, living with in-laws with only the clothes on our backs – the staff at Covedale went above and beyond, treating her with the best care and even offering to board her at no cost until we were able to get situated in temporary housing.
