When Prada took over this old Guggenheim space they set out to create a unique retail experience. They succeeded in creating a store that is more museum than retail shop.
While they do sell shoes, the space is best used for events and for photo ops for tourists. The large and intimidating staircase leads to the bigger shopping area. The first floor is mostly display.
The stock is hit of miss and the staff is generally out to lunch. Cool glass dressing rooms make one feel a tad voyeuristic.
