The Belcourt is terrific. It is irrevent, a bit dirty now and then (both physically and otherwise), at times raunchy, very adult (NOT FOR THE FAMILY!), but that being said, it is *fun*. They have a bar for drinks if you're into that, they have food- not just standard popcorn fare, but pizza and whatnot. They have plays. Rock groups. Sometimes they show Titans games on the movie screen. It's a blast. I highly recommend it for a date scene- one warning though, it's not for those of delicate sensibilities- both the people and the entertainment can be profane and vulgar (if you're into that though, its a good point for the place).
