A Transmission is Ripping us off. Report them. 4/2/2012

A+ Transmission Specialists AKA SASD Corporation will, and has, defrauded its customers - just ask your friends. I am surprised how many people know first-hand of their terrible reputation. They hide their BBB reviews under another name (SASD Corporation). This has to stop with someone. I am just one individual, but I can do something. The Office of Texas Attorney General states: ""We rely on citizens like you to help us enforce the Deceptive Trade Practices Act and other consumer protection laws"". This was in direct response to my complaint about A+ Transmission Specialists. If we just continue to allow them to lie, cheat, and misuse our trust simply because they rely on the fact that we have no knowledge of transmissions, we don't have any right to complain when they do it. There are laws against these activities, they are just not being enforced. I think they need to start enforcing them, now. You can help too: . If they have lied to you about parts, services installed on your car . If you used their free coupon and they took your car apart then forced you to pay to have it put back together . If they refuse to provide detailed receipts . If they told you that one repair was needed, but immediately after told you that you needed a new transmission because there was a lot of metal in your transmission (when they had not told you this when they first inspected it). . If you asked them not to do any work and they did it anyway without approval or any evidence of the work being performed (no receipt, no conversation with you, etc.) . If you left their shop, thinking everything was OK but found out within a few days that they had done something like left the seal off your transmission pan (maliciously or by oversight) - like they did to mine, allowing my transmission fluid to drip slowly and unnoticed which would have led to total transmission damage or even physical harm to me or my family if my transmission had failed on the freeway or if I had to sit somewhere waiting on a wrecker. Here is what you can do. I have contacted these agencies and even more. I can give you better detailed info if you respond to my email. One specific tip might prove invaluable to you. Contact BBB: Search for a+ Transmission or SASD Corporation Contact Texas Office of Attorney General: (800) 621-0508 Contact FTC: Contact Consumer Investigators: Please be sure to keep your receipts even if they don't say what they should - this is a tactic they have been using to get around covering up that they have not installed the parts that they claim. If you are currently having work done by them - understand that they will act like they are your new best friend. Listen to what they are saying - they will risk their job to help you out?? They will switch phones so that they can go against company policy to give you a better deal?? They will give you a free rental car - - that never arrives?? They will tell you intimate details about their family to put you at ease - why do they need to be so friendly?? When are you exceptionally, over the top friendly?? Lastly - record, (secretly on your cell phone) what they say. Don't wait til the problem shows up - record them while they are being your friend, telling you what needs to be done and how they are going to 'help you out'. When you go back because there is another problem, record (secretly) - again. Please feel free to contact me, I have even more information to offer and will be glad to help. I have been without the use of my vehicle since I found out that they left it unsealed and I could run out of transmission fluid at any time. My lawyers have asked me not to drive it and not to get it fixed. It has been 2 months now. more
