Marnie McCurdy has employed me for nearly 4 years. Over time I have seen many happy patients treated successfully by her. Because of my severe fear of needles I was too scared to ever seek treatment from her for past aches and pains. That is until I developed horrible nerve pain in my feet. My medical doctor didn?t have any answers other than Rx's that may or may not help, and had terrible side affects. I was desperate for relief:
I started my treatment with Marnie several weeks ago and it has been amazing. She made me feel so comfortable I didn?t even realize when the first needle was inserted. I had to laugh out loud at my self for being so frightened. There was no pain at all. With other needles I could feel them but it was just kind of weird sensations. I felt some immediate relief after the first treatment. As time went on I had more and more relief from the pain and the relief lasted longer and longer after the treatments. Marnie also took into account my lifestyle, eating habits and even my emotional well-being. We?re working on nutrition at this point. Next time I have any new aches and pains I?m calling Marnie before my M.D.

I decided to go to Elizabeth about 9 months after I stopped nursing my son. A month after I stopped nursing, a slew of very weird symptoms began--which included, numbness on one side of my body (left), particularly in my leg that would last for up to 14 days; heat sensation in my foot that sometimes went up my leg to my back, itchy calves and hands, irregular menstrual cylcles along with cyclical migraines and a couple scary bouts of anxiety. My cycles, which were always 28 days before, alternated between 18-35 days. I immediately had an MRI to rule out potential neurological issues (since the numbness/tingling wouldn't go away) and further tests to rule out multiple sclerosis (which were all thankfully negative).
I began tracking my symptoms which I realized were coinciding with my menstr. cycles. So, I decided to see my OB/GYN thinking my issue was hormonal, but she just referred me back to the neurologist, saying my symptoms were neurological, not gynecological. After a while I just became disconcerted with the docs who either doubted the authenticity of what was actually occurring or just reassured me to just live with it since it wasn't anything life threatening. I don't think they understood that I couldn't just ignore weird health symptoms that I never had before and that were occurring each month with my new found crazy cycles--not to mention that I didn't want to go around for two whole weeks of each month with a heavy, numb, tingly foot or leg. Also, I just couldn't stop thinking, at the fairly young age of 34 to "just live with it."
Then in my search for an alternative medicine doc, I was referred to Elizabeth by a friend. Elizabeth listened to everything I had to say, took down all of my symptoms and put me on an herbal tea (2 doses/day) and weekly acupuncture regimen for 3 months. After the first couple weeks I immediately began noticing a difference and my list of symptoms seemed to get shorter and shorter each week. After my first month with Elizabeth, my cycles went back to normal (which was impressive after my prior 9 months of irregularity) and after the third month, the only symptom remaining was a slight numb and tingly feeling in my foot which has since disappeared with a few extra acupuncture-only sessions (no more medicinal tea)!
Needless to say, Elizabeth is absolutely amazing--a true professional and extremely well-trained and knowledgeable in Chinese medicine and acupuncture. My visits with her (even though I'm not a fan of the needles) have been an absolute treat --she always explained what certain things mean in Chinese medicine to me (such as a liver/spleen deficiency or soggy pulse) and put up with occasional bouts of acting like a complete baby.
Prior to this experience, my thoughts on Chinese medicine/acupuncture were neutral, but I am now a firm believer that with the RIGHT acupuncturist (Elizabeth!), the sky's the limit.
Pros: Professional/Treatments a success!
Cons: None

I had an emergency and I had to bring my pet in to see a vet. The people at Pets Unlimited made me feel comfortable about coming in and the prices were reasonable considering this was an emergency. The vet, the pharmacist, the front desk staff, as well as the tech were professional and friendly and I really felt like my cat was in good hands. I would suggest anybody looking to adopt should contact them and continue receiving vet services from Pets Unlimited.
Thanks to the staff. My kittie is feeling much better!

I am an acupuncturist in the East Bay and I send all of my SF referrals to Laurie. Not only does she have great social skills but she is extremely knowledgeable and effective with her acupuncture treatments. She also works with a lot of MDs and has an integrated approach - as a referring doctor, this makes me feel very comfortable and safe knowing that she has these connections - she will not steer her patients wrong and has the professional relationships to refer when necessary. Overall, she is an excellent choice for your health care needs.
Pros: Extremely skilled and effective

This place is a great small yoga studio. There is a very relaxed atmosphere and there is no sense of competition here, which is good. The Monday night class with Karl Erb is really great for decompression and body work. I would highly recommend checking it out. Also, they offer a really wide variety of disciplines and teachers, you are bound to find one you like.

This is a great place to take your pets for check-ups and shots. The vet and people at the front desk are really friendly. I take all my animals here. The prices are about the same as the other places but it's worth it for the service. Overall i give this place 5 stars.

I saw Dr. Kaye a few years ago after receiving a stressful medical diagnosis. He was unimaginably helpful to me in addressing the stressful event and in moving forward. Since that time, I have referred all my friends and acquaintances to him whenever they were struggling with an issue or just trying to figure their life out. Everyone has come back to me and thanked me for the recommendation. I'm amazed how well he adjusts his approach for each person and makes everyone feel comforted. I've since left the Bay Area and attempted to see other therapists. I can truly say that Dr. Kaye has a gift for what he does and anyone needing help with an issue should seek out Dr. Kaye.
Pros: Individualized, Comforting, Intelligent

My husband and I visited the Fairmont Hotel Nob Hill from 07-29-07 through 08-03-07, and we were truly impressed with the beauty of this hotel. However, the hotel staff with there personal and courteous demeanor made the Fairmont even more impressive. We had our luggage delayed from the flight and the staff made us very comfortable until it arrived the next day. The concierge was very helpful with acquiring tickets for Beach Blanket Babylon and giving us directions around the city. They are kept very busy at that counter!!! Always a smile and plesant greeting. It was our first visit to SF and we were so relaxed and had a beautiful time. It was a vacation that we really needed and thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks Fairmont. Mary Ann & John M.
PS I loved the beautiful marble bathroom and the view of the city from our room "61" I was able to take some wonderful photos of the SF Bay from there.
