I'm a curly head who's always had a problem with my thick, coarse, long, curly hair. After reading pages of rave reviews about a certain stylist (many referencing curly hair) I called to make an appt. I explained my hair and was assured they could help me. I was quoted a price for full color and cut about $175. All excited I arrived promptly to find my stylist ""still at lunch"". I was offered water and told it shouldn't be long. 1/2 hour later, he strolls in, makes small talk with the staff , then wanders over to me to discuss my hair. No apology for the wait, but ok, he's the genius. We talked for a few minutes and I explained I needed-a cut and style that would allow my curls to fall into place and an even color as I had been covering my own gray for about a year. He was confidant and promptly started mixing my color. Almost 2 hours later, he had colored and razor cut (yes, razor cut) my curly hair. The style he gave me was to wrap individual pieces of hair around a finger and let dry. He insisted this would work best for my hair although I told him I wanted a wash & go style. He then told me he had put some Gold in my black hair (although I didn't see any) and of course my bill was written for 2 colors. Now my bill is almost $250 and I'm walking out with wet hair and shirley temple curls-I'm over 40, so not a good look. I questioned the bill and my stylist came back out to have me look in the light to see the gold, umm no, couldn't see it. He said, ""it will look great in the sun"" and walked away. Now maybe it's because he squeezed in 2 walk-ins while I was sitting with color on my head, or maybe my hair was too complicated, or maybe these great reviews are written by the stylists themselves! And they do pressure you to buy the B&B line. Over-priced, Over-hyped, Pretentious and Snotty Staff. Wants to be NY but falls way short. Won't be back..
Pros: Can't think of a thing.
Cons: Everything else
