No doubt about it: Zankou is the grilled chicken king, although the birds tend to be fairly fatty. There are big differences from location to location, however, and the Hollywood location suffers from two gals at the front counter who make standing in line a frequently longer experience than eating the meal. They're painfully slow to begin with -- despite the lines, Zankou never opens their second register at the same time -- and when they get into extended conversations you can forget placing your order until they've finished. It's so bad that people in line start laughing about it; it's sort of like being in the SNL skit, ""Cheeseburger, Cheesburger."" The Glendale location serves more people, faster, and it's still a one-register-at-a-time operation. Parking at both is unifomrly miserable.
Pros: Great chicken, Excellent value
Cons: Interminable lines, Miserable parking
