Diddy Riese is known for it's $1 ice cream sandwiches. They aren't tiny ice cream sandwiches either; usually one will fill you up for dessert.
There is a wide selection of different cookies and ice cream as well. The place is usually crowded as it is in a crowded location in West LA, near UCLA.

You have to try their Gladiator Omelet! It’s AMAZING! This place has decent prices for being on Melrose and being a small café. Also, they have a very extensive tea menu, which is great to peruse if you’re dining with one or two other people who are into tea. The art on the walls inside is also very cool, adding to the whole ambiance.

You’ll see this bakery’s bread all over local supermarkets because the demand for it became so high. It’s really good stuff, although based on my recollection, the prices weren’t so good that I had to say something about it. Great bakery to check out, though, if you’re looking for rolls. Good stuff! Enjoy!

This is a great place to go if you like ice/fruit drinks. They have an extensive selections that run from $2-$4 a drink. I recommend the lychee asian cooler, honeydew smoothie, or the coconut slushy. The great thing about this place is that you get a customer rewards card, which lets you get a free drink after a number of purchases.

Elysee is a great bakery place. You come in and there are treats at the counter for you to try. The atmosphere is very nice but the service is very bad. The workers are snotty and very rude. Other than that, I enjoy getting treats for myself at a low price.

The restaurant across the way is owned by the same owner and I recommend you start off there. I really find this place is a refreshing alternative to starbucks. Some game is usually on the flat screen tv's and the coffee and desserts are really nice. This place also has a really wide variety of teas including white teas which recently got popular. I think they're open pretty late and often have live concerts. It's a really great place to spend the evening.
