This place is a gem in LA. There are a lot of great bars to go to but none as lovely as this rooftop bar. It's great for a date or a night out with your gal pals. I went here with my bf a lot when we first start dating and just relaxed on the sofas and looked onto the buildings and into the starry night sky. The heat lamps keep you really warm too!
I have also been several times with my posse. Last time we went we met this really great bartender. I think his name was Mike? Anyways, he served us Hello Kitty shots which was SO fun. First of all the the liqueur thats used in them is called Ty Ku and the bottle LIGHTS UP!! It's also mixed with vodka. Went down real easy. It made our night very entertaining lol.
I always meet great people here. If I could, I'd come every weekend.

I highly recommend Simon Restaurant to everyone. Its a gorgeous ambiance with great food, cocktails, and attentive employees. I have no complaints about this place as the few times I've dinned there have always been quite pleasant.

I didn't stay in the hotel, I was just out there for the night to club. Went there on a wednesday night and they have a party out by the pool area. Around the pool sits "beds" instead of chairs, which is really nice. Candles light up the area and a dj plays dance music. I would've prefered some other type of music. The atmosphere is very friendly and 'loungey', great place to meet some really good looking people. Drinks are expensive I think but I don't usually pay for them so I'm not completely sure...definitely a place to check out. I loved it and I'm definitely going back next wednesday!
Pros: Great looking people, high-class lounge party
Cons: Pricey drinks...not much else bad (course I only went wednesday)

I was a student in Arizona at ASU that just recently graduated. I had used Apartment Movers Los Angeles originally to get my stuff out there. At that time I was living in Los Angeles and they were a local company which I like to support so I called them and they worked really well for me. So they moved me to Arizona for school . They did such a good job that when I needed a moving company again this May, I called them again. They said they normally only pick up shipments in our around Illinois but since I was a returning customer, they made an exception. I told them if it was too much trouble I would call another company but they insisted on working with me. They said they have most of their trucks coming my way anyways and so that helped me out. I just think that for a family owned moving company with all of its own trucks, they do a great job of getting peoples belongings moved and on time. I think of moving companies like I think of restaurants; the big moving company names you hear of are like McDonalds and Burger kings...fra

I would definitly highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wanted to stay at a hotel that was convinient to many things to do, and wanted a nice place to stay.
This hotel was very, very clean, and had great service. The beds were new, and very clean. The sheets were very soft, and enjoyable. The service at this hotel was really excellent. The staff was very nice and imformative.
This hotel was very convienient to the farmer's market, the Grove,CBS studios,and American Girl. All you had to do was cross one street and you were at the Farmer's market and American Girl.
Walking distance from the Farmer's daughter to American Girl was excellent, about 3 minutes. The location of this hotel was clean, and in the good part of LA.

I am a local so i don't think to go "out on the town" in my neighborhood very often. I had some friends in town so I wanted to show them a truely LA spot without all of the BS. I hadn't been to the Standard in a long time so I thought it would be fun. I wasn't planning on having dinner but my friends were hungry so we ate in the Restaurant. Now I am not sure why I haven't been eating here more often. The food was amazing! I had the steak frites. The fries aren't like regular fries. They're like a souffle potato! I have never tasted anything so yummy. The server was really attentive and made the experience fun. There was a huge line to get to the Roof so we hung out in the Lobby and had some drinks after dinner. There was a pretty awesome dj and the vibe was fun. When we finally got to the roof we had a pretty good buzz going. The view is just as beautiful as I remembered it. The only thing that has changed was the servers. I remembered them being snotty with tons of attitude. Not at all. Totally cool and fun. Everyone that works there seems to have a blast. We were supposed to do the site seeing thing but ended up staying for hours and having a great time. Definitely worth it!

spending a weekend in a private bungalow was just so romantic .....we live in la but if you want to get away ..it is the place. .The staff is very courteous and helpful.Great swimming pool area and the lobby is very inviting for drinks and relaxing

Have stayed there several times and The W always takes great care of their guests.
The W stands for "whatever whenever" and they really mean it. Anything you could want, they can most likely take care of for you.
After a concert one night they made an In-N-Out Burger run for us. AWESOME!!!
