I thought the prior post was complete nonsense. UCLA is a world class university, that has a great reputation around the world, and which is famous for its research and scientific achievements. Hmmmmmmm....if it wasn't world class, then why are there so many bright, foreign students at the university? And excuse UCLA, for being blessed with its wonderful location. Should it be in the cold of Paris, or in the fog of Cambridge? No, it's near the beautiful CA coastline! Sports is a part of the college experience as well. People are supposed to be balanced in school and in life; it makes a complete person. UCLA has produced Nobel Prize winners, famous scientists, great physicians, and several entrepreneurs. Oh, and don't forget: IT IS THE MOST APPLIED-TO UNIVERSITY IN THE WORLD.

I took guitar lessons here. My instructor was knowledgeable and assessed my abilities well. He then went on to teach me according to what I wanted to learn in terms of style and skills. I always felt comfortable and like I was progressing from lesson to lesson. I highly recommend this school to anyone thinking about music lessons or continuing their music education.
Pros: Nice Clean facility, Qualified Instuctors, Great Pricing

I love this place. You can look for books by subject, age everything. They have a great selection of books in Spanish.
Really great store, much better than buying books at a big chain store.

If you need a gift for a kid's birthday or a new baby - go here! Much better and more cool stuff than what you'd find at a toy store. Some of the rare books and prints are on the expensive side, but they've also got a good variety of stuff at a decent price for a kid of any age. They also have events almost every weekend for the kids, including book readings and musical acts.

Okay, so its not in the best neighborhood, but the campus is absolutely beautiful. I have spent all day wandering around the grounds. Heritage hall, where you can see all the heisman trophies USC football players have won, is not something you'd want to miss. The bookstore is also a lot nicer than most bookstores at schools. My favorite part among all the buildings is the gargoyle that is thumbing his nose at USC rival UCLA. I'm not sure what building it's on, but its always a good laugh. The school is great too, as I have a lot of friends and family that went there and are doing great in their current careers.

This place is like heaven for small children. My son LOVED his birthday party here. Last month I took him to one of those dinners with cartoon characters - he loved it! It's better than chuckie cheese for really young kids. My son goes to the painting class and my daughter goes to one of the dance classes - they don't cost a whole lot and the classes seem really fun for them. It really does help make "creative kids."

This schoolhouse is perfect for people who want their children to be cared for properly and in the right environment. They have grades K-8, and they really take care of their staff, which in turn takes care of our children. Good reputation, too, which is very important to me and others as well.

"Acting is not feeling, Acting is what you do about how you feel." "How do you feel about it, what are you doing about it." Two things said to me when I first went to Janet Alhanti as a student in 1998. Not only has Janet taught me how to work, she has taught me how to live as a person. She is a teacher who is a real person. Hard to find in this town. When I first moved to Los Angeles to achieve my dreams of being an actor I went to The American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Which was a waste of time and money. If you want to be a dancer go to the best dance teacher, you want to be a singer go to the best Singing coach, If you want to be an actor go to the best acting coach and that is what I set out to do. I went to many of the top agents in town and asked about who they recommended to study with. They all said Howard Fine, Larry Moss, and Janet Alhanti. I interviewed with all three. I decided to study with Janet, and it was the best decision I have ever made. Janet taught me how to work as an actor. How to understand what the material was about and how I had to live up to the demands of the material. If they are playing the waltz you can't do the cha cha. She taught how to break the material down and do the work, and the more work you put into it is what you get out of it. Most actors think if they learn the lines then they have done the work, or if they cry then they are a good actor. Janet taught me it's not about feeling, but if I understand what the material is about and the circumstances then that will take me to where I need to be. Action and Reaction. Working off one another, listen, relationships and what a relationship really IS, are all things you must do and know to be a good actor. If a person is not a sensitive person, then on stage or film they will not be a sensitive person. And every person is sensitive to themselves, but it is about sensibility. Do you know how we affect each other. Janet told me that my vulnerability was my strength, and not a weakness. I could write a novel on how much I have learned from Janet, like I said not only have I learned and own my craft, but she taught me how to be all that I can be as a person first and foremost. I urge every actor to experience what I have been so truly grateful to experience and learn from one of the greats, and in my opinion is the greatest. Janet told me it's not about being the best, but it's about being good at what you do. Best is a matter of opinion. From Meisner to Alhanti to the people who are lucky enough to get to learn form her. Thank you.
Pros: Janet Inspires you to be all you can be.
Cons: You don't go. You might miss out.
