Zake

I love this place. Ive been going to Zake for almost 2 years. The price cant be beat. Thirty dollars for all you can eat sushi and steak plus you get soup, sald, and all you can eat appitizers. The steaks are always juicy and cooked the way i like. I had my first sushi experience here and it is very friendly for people that are new to sushi. You must try the Zake special roll. If you can ,request John or Alex as your servers. They are awesome and really make the experience. I do have one gripe though. I always go with my girlfriend and she will always take like 1 or 2 of my gyoza (potstickers). I always do the all you can eat special but she is just a tiny lil lady and doesnt need all that food. Untill recently it was never an issue for her to take a few things off my plate untill now. The oweners wife was in one night and pulled our server to the side to tell him that my girl had taken a gyoza off my plate. Then she had the nerve to shoot me a dirty look after. And get this the next time we went in we sat at the bar so we could watch the vikes/bears game and she went behind the bar and told the server to warn us if we share again we will be asked to leave. That is not how you treat a long time loyal customer. Anyways aside from the owners wife (we call her the sushi nazi) i cant say anything bad about this place. After walking around downtown without a solid plan, and going into multiple restaurants that were booked two hours ahead, we settled on Zake. The wait time as only 20 minutes, which was great...but we should have made reservations in advance to somewhere we really wanted to go. more

All you can eat steak and sushi! Fresh sushi and juicy steak, great food, and attentive service, will be back soon! one comment about the last review, may be your group didn't come in the same time, that's why have to wait for rest of the group to be seated, 20 minutes for sushi is not that long! Remember, they all make fresh by order! Also may be your group request separated check, that's why take longer to cash out. We made a reservation and still waited 45 minutes to be seated. Our server took over 20 minutes to come take our orders and never refilled drinks. Took 20 minutes to get food (sushi/rolls do not take that long). We ordered our drinks before the food and didn't get it until after our food came. The food was stale, and they mixed up our orders. We didn't get all our food and our server wasn't very helpful. Overall, this was the WORST experience I've ever encountered in regards to service. We had a large group, so there was a 18% gratuity charge. I understand we had a large group, but we had to argue with the manager because of the horrible service we got.
