Average Services 3/14/2011

The week of my daughters wedding we went for a massage and pedicure. The hostess that greats you has an unfriendly personality. I was there for a special time with my daughter so I ignored her. The rest of the staff was very nice, but the ginger pedicure was disappointing The polish had rubbed off by the next day and the way my toenails were trimmed I have a cut on my foot. $60 is a lot for a very average pedicure. The facility is lovely and quiet. Over priced and have had much better massages for half the price. more

The Woodhouse Day Spa 12/30/2010

I would recommend The Woodhouse Day Spa to anyone who wanted an experience of a lifetime. I love this place. The Woodhouse Day Spa is very clean. The personnel who work there are very professional. They are there to pamper you as soon as you walk through the door, they know how to make you feel at home. It is a very comfortable enviroment. I visited the Woodhouse for the first time in November, since them I have been back twice. I had a Swedish Massage from Adam, he was very attentive to your needs and when he completes your massage you are totally relaxed. It was the most relaxing massage I have ever had and I have had a few. I purchased a Swedish Massage through Groupon in June 2010, I hesitated to schedule an appointment. I finally decided to schedule the appointment before it expired in November 2010. If I had it to do over I would have scheduled the appointment in June and a couple more each month after June. Since my First massage at the Woodhouse Day Spa in November, I scheduled two in December and I plan to visit each month of the following year. more

The Woodhouse Day Spa at the Quarry 12/15/2010

I received a gift certificate for this spa and when I called to verify what exact services I would receive - both times I called I never received a clear answer. That confusion carried through to my appt. as well. I was scheduled to receive the swedish massage - 50 minutes at $90.00....the guy asked if I wanted soft touch or hard touch....well, of course, I answered "hard touch". That will be an extra charge, he answered. Never once is that stated in their Menu of Services. I was also scheduled to get a pedicure - at 45 minutes. Their menu states to arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appt. time. I did. My appt. time was at 5:00 pm. I was not taken out of the sitting room until almost 5:10pm (LATE). My massage did not start until 5:15 and ended about 5:46. I did not get the full 50 minutes (the guy yawned 3 times). With the high prices - I would expect the full 50 minutes. When I was then picked up by the manicurist - she thought I was there for a manicure. No, I explained a pedicure. for $60.00 I would have thought perfection. My big toe nail was cut crooked. So of course, at the end of my journey - they came to me to collect. I was over my gift certificate. This was a gift certificate purchased for me. I can not understand why they did not know what was to be performed and stuck to that. The front desk people were confused and not nice from the time I called in to schedule to the actual day of my appointment. No one seemed to know what I was there fore and again, of course, they made it convenient for them to go over my already paid for gift certificate - so they could collect more money from me. They asked discreetly for what percent I was going to give as a tip!! When I called in the next day to confirm exactly what I received and what I paid for, Brittany could not answer my questions and passed the phone to Lisa who also could not answer my questions. SO WHO POCKET MY MONEY!! more

What an amazing spa!! 2/9/2010

Let me just say that I have been to a lot of spas in town and this is by far the best! EVERYONE from the staff upfront to the staff (who are always nice ) who perform the services. Everyone is always willing to help you, no matter what. I would be shocked if someone didnt like this spa. Pros: The kind people who work there Cons: NOTHING ! more

Do not have a party. 2/5/2010

Every time I come in the services are great and the spa is beautiful. The issue, every time, is their "spa coordinator." This lady is rude, condescending, uniformed and just unprofessional. I was going to send all of my family and friends in for a bridal party but every time I talk to her everything changes, policies, prices, availability. I bartered with her for some products/services earlier last year came to find out she took the for herself, probably wasnt allowed by corporate. Oh well my gift card worked! She is always very condescending and rude, and apparently the only one who can set up my party. I don't deal with her so maybe I'll try the other location or somewhere else. I'm not gonna pay over 6,000 to be treated like that. Everyone is so sweet and helpful too! :( Pros: Services and Spa is nice Cons: Spa Coordinator more

Best Way To Relax 3/6/2009

I've been going to Woodhouse Spa for years. I love this place. I take all my family when they come to town to visit. It's the most relaxing place anywhere. It's like being on a vacation and getting the best pampering ever. Pedicures are great, I see Sandy, I think she works at La Cantera location now. The polish always lasts forever and never chips. I can't say enough about this wonderful place. If you haven't been you need to find out what you're missing out on. I give this place 5 Stars even though they deserve more. Pros: Everything about this place is perfect Cons: Nothing more

Awesome spa experience 12/11/2008

I had the Minkyti facial. I would highly recommend this service for anyone who want to pamper themselves. It is an 1 1/2 hours of total enjoyment and relaxation! The atmosphere is elegant and comfortalbe. The staff is warm and friendly. The fragrance is intoxicating! The overall experience was wonderful and I would highly recommend this spa! It is also very convenient to purchase the gift certificates on line...I am looking forward to my next visit and hope to do it soon! more

Fabulous Day Spa 12/10/2008

I love Woodhouse Spa. I have been fortunate enough to experience several treatments at The Woodhouse Day Spa and each experience has been fabulous. Woodhouse Spa gift certificates are the perfect gift for any occasion. The experience is great the second you walk in the door. more

This was the most heavenly parfin manicure I've ever had. I found the technician to be very pleasant, professional and both talented and knowledgable. She actually told me after the first coat of color was on, she would recommend another shade, slightly different but better coverage for my skin and nails. She was 100% right and I was greatful for her recommendation. Also the pedicure was spectacular. The chairs were so comfortable. The new facitily at The Rem is luxurious and comfortable. If you want to truly pamper yourself, I would highly recommend. Can't wait for the next visit. Pros: Technicial was superb. more

Awesome!! Great Spa 12/9/2008

From a guy's perspective 12/8/2008

My wife purchased a full package for me as a birthday present - massage, facial, manicure, pedicure. I have to admit, the "girly" aspect had me on edge at first. In a nutshell, I worried for nothing. The staff was extremely friendly - not at all "snooty". The facilities are nice but that wasn't a factor one way or the other. The massage was FANTASTIC from the beginning when they wrapped my feet and ankles in warm moist towels. The manicure was equally great. I'd never experienced the parafin dip before but it was such a great feeling on my hands and wrists that tend to ache a lot. The warmth was very tolerable and felt great. My experience with the facial was not at all what I expected. Whether it was from the smell of chemicals in the room or something else, I had difficulty breathing from the beginning. The warm steam/mist blowing into my face only made it worse...felt myself quickly becoming claustraphobic (sp?) I'd much prefer a hot towel in the barbers chair to this...not something I'd recommend or repeat. All in all, the staff was very accomodating and friendly without being "chatty". I was surprised to find myself becoming "antsy" after a couple hours there with nothing to do but be waited on, but it was still the best birthday present I've ever gotten. Amanda (for the massage) and Sarah (for the manicure) were the best. Let me totally quiet or could carry on a pleasant conversation. Very attentive! Overall I'd go back in a heartbeat! Pros: Attentiveness, atmosphere Cons: Bad experience with facial chemicals...allergies...Facial was NOT a pleasant experience. more

Beautiful spa with pretty good services 11/17/2008

I got a volcanic rock massage and the Essential Cleansing Facial. The facility is beautiful -- soothing decor, quiet rooms, and luxurious robes and linens. My massage was very relaxing, although not the best I have ever had. The facial was also good, but not the best. Minimal extractions, and more of just a facial massage. Very pleasant, but I didn't feel my skin was truly improved. I would go back, but would be more specific with my requests next time. Also, use the Citysearch coupon! It worked and was a great deal! Pros: Ambience Cons: Not quite as skilled staff. more

Extravagant Decor, Acommodating Staff and Excellent Choice of Services!!!! 8/12/2008

I recently visited the Woodhouse Day Spa with my mother for a girls day at the spa. My expectations were far exceeded from beginning to end. The front desk staff was very helpful and resourceful. The massage therapist knew exactly what pressure to place us in a state of complete relaxation. I recommend this spa to anyone who wants to be pampered! more

Avoid on friday and saturday 7/3/2008

This spa is without a doubt, very beautiful.Great location and smells fantastic! On the other hand, the services are ?average? and overpriced. There are no amenities (whirlpool, sauna) to make use of before or after a service. There are only lockers (inside the rest room), one shower, and two (small) waiting rooms where depending on which employee seats you, might forget to ask you for something to drink. Once your done with the service if you ?prebook? with the same person-more than likely that employee wont ?continue to work with us any longer? as well as the unfriendly front desk that at times place you on hold for too long?.My husband/ friends have all been visiting this spa for about a year and this is a major discrepancy that all of us noticed. However it?s only our opinion. We no longer visit this spa but maybe you should try it for your self Pros: Atmosphere is great! But, thats it! Cons: snotty staff/ rare availabilities more

Most beautiful spa in San Antonio! My sister in law and I had a perfect day! 4/28/2008

My brother gave his wife and I gift cards for Christmas and we both enjoyed "A Day at the Woodhouse". The massage was great, the therapist was very polite and delivered exactly what I needed, but the facial could not be beat. I have had massages before, but this was my first facial and I will definitely be back for more. The facial was called Minkiti (sp) and it was an hour and a half of pure heaven! I will definitely be back! The customer service was extremely gracious, the spa was beautiful and it's an experience I wll not soon forget. I hope my brother gives me another "Day at the Woodhouse" for Christmas this year... hint, hint! Pros: Experienced, friendly staff. Beautiful atmosphere! Cons: I can't afford to go more often! more

wood house day spa 4/20/2008

decor was great, place was clean, but the service was less than desirable. made you wait to long even with an appoinment. staff was to snootty and look down on you.. they need to work on customer service!!!!!! After all we are the ones that keep them in buissness. Pros: nice clean and well decorated Cons: staff not very friendly- be prepared to wait even with appointment more

Fabulous Five-Star Spa! 12/3/2007

My day at the Woodhouse Spa was absolutely wonderful! From the elegant and warm decor to the professional and friendly service, my experience was nothing less than perfect! I have visited many spas throughout the country, and am confident that this spa is among the very best!. The wide-array of services are reasonably-priced and beyond relaxing. This spa is the perfect place for an individual to visit or a girls' getaway. I was extremely impressed and pleased with the massage, facial, and pedicure that I received, as well as the extensive skin care products which were available for purchase directly from the spa. I would not hesitate to recommend the Woodhouse Spa to anyone who is looking to be truly pampered in a beautiful, classy environment. I just purchased Woodhouse gift certificates as Christmas gifts for my children's teachers....I know they, too, will have an amazing experience! Pros: Excellent service, beautiful and elegant environment, convenient more

Elegant & best spa services in the country 12/3/2007

I was in San Antonio for my 40th with friends and we spent the day at the Woodhouse Spa. What an incredible experience. The staff were overwhelmingly friendly, the service before, during and after the treatments was excellent and the therapists were absolutely top notch! The services are unique and very reasonably priced. And the spa itself is unbelievable! It creates the perfect relaxing environment. I have been to a lot of spas throughout the country and this one is by far the most beautiful. This is a 5 star absolutely most see!!! Pros: Stunning environment, convenient, excellent service, great value. more

Too snooty 11/8/2007

I thought this spa was beautiful to look at but felt uncomfortable with how snooty and unfriendly everyone seemed. Don't get me wrong, the massage was good, but I personally just felt uncomfortable and should have selected a spa where people were a bit friendlier. more
