Editorial review from Citysearch 1/17/2014

Writing this review because I have been coming here for years and years. The Wheel Thing is easily one of the best auto shops in Philadelphia, the Owner Brian is easily one of the most professional and knowledgeable people in the business. From what I read some people were not satisfied with the audio service which was actually a sub business leased by a man named Steven, Brian took care of all other services. He was kicked out of the building about 8 months ago and Brian has taken it over. As far as the other complaints, i've been sitting and chatting with the employees when a person comes in with a tirade of accusations that have nothing to do with the work that they do. If you crack a Wheel it was likely a result of poor driving, what makes you thinking repairing it will make you a better driver? Unfortunately due to the neighborhood some ignorant people tend to have their business done here but i've also sat next to Athletes and Lawyers while having pleasant chats. I highly recommend this shop, don't listen to the haters. As I always say only 2 kinds of people write reviews, the satisfied and the un-satisfiable and i'm certainly the former. more

The Worst 9/17/2011

The Worst. Very unprofessional , poor workmanship. I took my wheel to wheel thing to be repaired, and it took a month to repair minor curb rash. They told me it was ready i went to pick it up and they said it was'nt ready. I live in the western suburbs outside of Phila. had to drive all the way to North Phila 35min drive to be dissapointed. That's not all folk's so after a month of waiting they called me for my wheel, i arrived at Wheel Thing for them to tell me they could'nt find my wheel. They found it the, curb rash was gone, but it was new damage to my wheel courtesy of Wheel Thing. They did'nt even offer to repair the damage they caused. This was one of the worst experiences i've encountered. This is a rhim shop for the local drug boy's that seem's what they are used to dealing with, never again more

Wheel Thing 12/12/2010

I have been bringing my cars there for years. The service is always great! Helpful and nowledgeable people to deal with. If there ever is a problem, they will take care of it. My BMW had a vibration in the front end. I took it to the BMW dealer for service. They said they took care of it. When I drove away from the dealer in the car, the problem was still there. So I went to The Wheel Thing when i got back in town. They said the front wheels where fine but the back tires needed replaced. As soon as they put the tires on I went on the highway and the problem was solved. Thats why I take all my cars there. more

Best In Philly!! 2/19/2009

I have been going to the Wheel Thing for years and I have never had a problem. I'm not sure what the other two peoples experiences were but I have had nothing but good experiences. I have even recommended my family and friends to their store. i don't think it has anything to do with the neighborhood. I hope The Wheel Thing keep up the good work and as long as they keep serving the community with good service I will continue to tell anyone I know about them. Pros: They can get almost anything for your car. Cons: Hours aren't long enough! LOL! more

Not a professsional place 12/17/2008

I think this business has been living off the Reputation of Perzan who was there 6years ago. I purchaced what I thought was a new Blaupunk Amp and Bazooka tube., for $600. Turns out the subwoofer was used and they ran the power strait from my alternator causing 2 burnt out alts...the whole time I was there nothing but ppl returning with complaints from wrong size rims to mitch match tires sizes for one car to rims rubbing in wheel wells...the sad part about it is that this place is in a low income high crime neighboor hood were they are satifying the hood mentality...rims, rims, rims, and thats it...you got ur rims now live with them... Pros: none, thumbs down Cons: their out for a quick buck, High crime neigboorhood more

Absoluely horrible 6/4/2008

I dented an aftermarket rim after I drove into a pothole. Wheel thing was recommended to me, and it was a HUGE mistake to take my wheel there. I first dropped it off, they told me it would be a week for it to get fixed. They never called me, so for 3 weeks I had to keep calling them back and asking if my wheel was fixed(by this time my spare was starting to go flat). Pros: Nothing, generic brands of rims, audio equipement. For people who don't know anything about cars Cons: See pros as well as horrible customer service. I don't understand how this place is in business more
