I've been coming to Wax On in Capitol Hill for almost 5 years. At first I was bummed when Sheila left, but then discovered Coni and Heather. They are both awesome! I've seen al...

Not good. 2/24/2007

I went here for my first Brazilian wax. I tried to make an appointment online using their reservation request form. It said someone would get back to me shortly to confirm. After hearing nothing for three days, I called, and was informed that there was no availability for several weeks. Fine -- I made an appointment. I arrived on time for my appointment to find that there was nobody in the salon, and the door was locked. After I waited outside in the cold for 20 minutes, a frazzled esthetician appeared with her cup of espresso, and ushered me into a blindingly bright room where Modest Mouse was playing on the stereo at earsplitting decibel levels. She proceeded to complain about her day, her boss, and her life, while intermittently crying -- her tears falling on my progressively more denuded groin. Since it was my first wax, I expected there to be pain and maybe a few pinpricks of blood. I was unprepared for the raw, chicken-skin appearance of my nether regions, and the slaps she gave my inner thighs after she ripped off the muslin to "distract" me from the pain. She was having an off day, and afterward apologized for her behavior, but I've never gone back. Go to Salon Dewi instead. Travis Powell is amazing, and less expensive. more

I highly recommend Wax On Spa 7/31/2006

I like this to the point, laid back spa. It's professional without the frills and over selling. I've been going there for almost 2 years and I'm super, super picky. I always stand up when we're done just to make sure my triangle is just how I like it. They are always patient with my nit picking and extra plucking that I request if need be. Plus, free alcohol! And the shea butter at the end is really nice, too. I recommend this place, and have to many of my friends! more

Best Wax In Seattle 12/1/2005

I just got my third Brazilian from WaxOn in Belltown and am ready to proclaim it the best wax in Seattle. What I like about it is the professionalism. I was greeted politely, on time and the service was fast and efficient. I don't go to chit chat and hang out, I go for a top-notch wax and that is what I have gotten every time. If you want a professional waxing and a reasonable price, go to the originals, WaxOn spa. more

Horrible, traumatizing experience 11/30/2005

I went to Wax On in Belltown for my first-ever Brazillian. I told the girl (Sandra? Sandy? She never told me her name, I had to call back later to ask and have since forgotten) it was my first time and that I was pretty freaked out about it. She never responded to that, never offered me anything to drink, barely said more than a couple woi\rds to me the entire time. She seemed to be in a hurry even though I was early. She made me wait for 20 minutes and never told me why I was sitting there for so long or when I was going to actually get my wax. The "spa" was very stark, not relaxing at all. The actual waxing room had terribly bright, sterile overhead lighting and blinding white walls. It felt way more like an operating room than a spa, which did not help me be any less freaked out. The girl did not use any powder before waxing (which I have since found out is not so great for the skin), nor did she put any powder or oil or lotion (nothing) on my skin when she was finished. She missed several spots and did not look over when she was finished to make sure she'd gotten everything. When I was leaving, she did not try to sell me anything (which was bad in my case since she neglected to use oil or lotion and it caused a horrible skin reaction). She did not tell me how to take care of it. I left shaking and nearly in tears. My skin reacted terribly...I broke out and it took over a month to clear, and I also had tons of ingrowns. I was so traumatized by the experience I will never go back to Wax On, and it took me 6 months to feel comfortable enough to go to a different spa (Habitude, with my trusted eyebrow waxer Sonya) for a Brazillian. I will never go anywhere but where Sonya works again, no matter the cost. Stay away from Wax On, they are horrible. more

don't go anywhere else for a wax... 9/21/2005

If you are looking for a wax, you must go here. They are the best. When I first "entertained" the idea of a Wax, I tried several different places- from the low end places to the fancy over priced places. This little semi-spa is quaint and welcoming, the staff is cool and comforting and they are gentle-gentle-gentle; very professional and very good at what they do. The Best in the Business, I'd say!!!!!! They wax everything and have very fair pricing- check out the website at www.waxon.com. more

Clinical atmosphere, passable results 9/9/2005

I have to say that Wax On is definitely not my choice for waxing. I've been to the Wax On location on 15th several times and it's not a particularly inviting place. This is clearly not a spa. They do a passable job, but it's not great. They'll also try to sell you all kinds of products (for waxing?!?), which is fairly annoying. more

Best Wax in Town 9/9/2005

I get my waxing done at the Belltown Wax On and I couldn't be more satisfied. It is a very small location, but the aestheticians are excellent and friendly and it is very easy to get an appointment. You can also double up on services--I have gone in for a painful bikini wax followed by a soothing facial and gone out feeling fabulous. The prices are also very competitive. more
