Best

I've been in a bowling league at University Bowl for seven years now. Management and it's staff are just wonderful, they make you feel right at home. They will go above and beyond...

Really Impressed! 11/5/2010

This place deserves way more credit than it is recieving! We recently went in (as walk-in's) to bowl with our children and I was impressed! Of course, there was a wait - but that just goes to show that their business was in demand!\r \r The place is quite entertaining while you're waiting. My husband and son could not get enough of the guitar hero arcade game, while I sat and enjoyed some amazing fried mushrooms from the snack bar!\r \r Once we were called to bowl, we enjoyed even more food (their hamburgers are amazing!), a few drinks from the bar, and of course an AWESOME bowling experience! Not to mention - the staff was very friendly! \r \r Overall, this is the best bowling alley I've been to in San Antonio. I highly recommend it to all! more

University Bowl 6/19/2010

A friend and I bowl weekly here. Much better than Bandera Bowl. Little bit more expensive than the other bowling alleys in the city but feels worth the difference. Never had any trouble with the staff and they are actually adults unlike Bandera Bowl. Usually get a lane pretty quick considering it has so few and the lanes are always well taken care of. Much more modern equipment compared to others in the city as well. Overall a great place to bowl. Pros: Clean. Ran by adults. Cons: Little bit pricey. Not that many lanes. more

Disabled discrimination at its worst 5/11/2010

First off, I convinced people at my work that we should go bowling here at Universty Bowl. The staff was unfriendly and we had on guy that is disabled because of a bad back. He was not bowling at all and on the third game we saw that no one was using one of those ball ramps that kids use. He wanted to bowl, but that was the only way. We used it for one frame in the third game for him and the manager or the person in charge came over and said this is only for kids. We explained the our fellow co-worker has a bad back and he stated why is he here at a bowling alley. Discrimination against handicapped at its worst. Will never bowl there again.? Part Two of the Worst Experience. The Management and staff were rude and inconsiderate. It was horrible service in the bar and all you heard her talk about was other patrons and making fun of them. She should not have a job dealing with people if she does not like serving them. I would never hire any of the staff in my business. My business would not last a year If I did. Pros: Family Atmosphere Cons: Worst staff I have ever Seen more

Overpriced, bad service 10/3/2009

I recently went to University bowl with a couple of friends. We had a ""buy one get one free"" coupon. Every other place I've ever used these coupons you get 2 games free if you bowl 4 games, but just to be safe we asked if this was the case when we first arrived. They said yes. So we played four games expecting to pay for 2 (and shoes, of course), but when we went to pay they said we only got one game free. So they lied to us earlier. Plus the bathrooms were disgusting. In the ladies, only one stall had toilet paper and that one was backed up with nastiness. There was paper and trash all over the floor and urine too. The men's room was just as bad. There was mold under the sink. It looked like it had never been mopped. And one last complaint: they refused to take a passport as valid identification to buy drinks. A passport is good enough for the Department of Homeland Security, but it's not good enough to buy a beer at University Bowl. Pros: there's bowling Cons: filthy bathrooms, overpriced, rude staff more

Best Bowling, Lot of Fun with friendly people 12/8/2007

The people at University Bowl are friendly and out going providing good Customer service. They will go out of their way to make your stay at the alley as pleasant as possible. It's a very popular alley and you need to wait for the a lane once in a while. However, they have lots of games and pool tables to make the wait shorter and the prices are reasonable. A great place for fun! Pros: Fun place to bowl Cons: A little wait on Fridays and Sundays more

Great Bowling.... 1/13/2004

I enjoyed my time bowling at University! The service was great and the lanes were well maintained. The only problem I faced was the wait to get a lane due to the popularity of the alley. Other than the typical busy Friday or Saturday night, University Bowl is a great place! Pros: good maintainance, friendly staff Cons: long waiting list more
