Best in Seattle 5/4/2006

They have 2 locations that I know of - Lynnwood and Lake City. Here's what to get - the Cajun. It comes with a side of ranch to dip in which helps mitigate the heat. It's delicious. I also get the turkey dip if I'm trying to go easy on the calories. YUM! more

the Firecracker (best hot sub in town) 4/10/2006

I love this sub. If you like spicy food, you will love the Firecracker. Just thinking about dipping that wonderfully crafted sandwich in a barbecue dipping sauce and biting in... my mouth waters. more

Awesome sub sandwiches 3/12/2006

I'm not generally a sub fan (especially since I ate way too much Subway food last year), but I really like this place. They have unique and delicious sandwich varieties, with good vegetarian options. You'll have to wait a bit for your sandwich, but the extra 3-5 minutes really makes all the difference in taste. There's parking in front, but the lot can be crowded; it is also on the 72 and 372 bus lines. more

Grant's Got the Goods 2/10/2006

Grant Balke. Tall, red-headed and handsome. Sews his own high-tech mountainwear for godssakes! Can wire, plumb and build with the best of them. Works on boats. Young and still passionate. Loves his trade. Not only that, he can hold his own in a conversation - and you'll be tempted to keep him for a coffee or a beer. Grant used to work at Home Depot but he was too good - and they lost him to us: his fans on the journeyman trail. I reluctantly share him with you now. He will do a great job on your stairs - and probably save you some money as well. NB: Phone number has changed!!! I will post the current one soon! Stay tuned... more

Best Subs in Seattle 12/19/2005

Maybe I don't get out very much. Maybe my mouth waters all too often at the plastic fruit on display with the table settings at Pottery Barn. Whatever the case may be, Tub's Gourmet Subs will set your mouth sailing to the Dionysian palaces of Greek abundance or busing to a local sub shop in the Bronx on a hot summer afternoon circa 1951. These subs dive to the darkest depths of your palate and from there emerge with the subtle tang of onion, pepper and toasty bread breaking against the roof of your mouth. The menu is diverse and offers anything you wish to fancy your fangs. Try the Chicken Cobb or something with or without avocado. Whatever the case make sure to bring that soft spot in your heart because Tub's will take you back to when subs were truly tasty. more

TUBS 10/19/2005

Looking for a great sandwich and a great value. These sandwiches are the best I have ever tasted. All the subs are hand made with the best selection of breads and meats. The combinations they have are have great names, 'The Godfather', 'The Firecracker', and all taste great. Haven't found one that hasn't been delicious down to the last bite. Tastes like happy! more

Delicious! 9/29/2005

I've never had a sub at Tubs that I didn't like. All of their selections are delicious. The staff is very friendly and it's the kind of place where they remember you. Their meateater and vegetarian daily specials are always fun concoctions and they've got a different kind of cake every day- the perfect way to top off your lunch or dinner. This is the perfect place to come for a weekend lunch or light dinner. They're only open until 8 p.m., though. more

Great Sandwiches 9/15/2005

Tubs is one of those places that's packed at lunchtime. If you can, order ahead. It is well worth the wait for your yummy, toasted sandwich. I crave the cajun, but everything else I've had is fantastic as well. You can't go wrong with one of their hot subs! Don't count out Tubs for dinner. They're open on Sundays now too! more

subs 8/11/2005

At Tub's Gourmet Subs - All of their foods - subs, calzones & pizzas- are oven-baked and made fresh to order by staff who are committed to the highest quality standards and your complete satisfaction. Their food is OUTSTANDING and so is the friendly service. Great prices too! I LOVE the philly sub best! Very clean store, quick service. The parking lot is always clean. more

I'm not ordinarily a 'Sub Sandwich' kinda gal.... 4/25/2005

Unassuming place in a Lake City strip mall has people coming from all over the city and standing in line out the door at lunchtime. I usually call ahead to place my order. I'm addicted to their Grinder (toasted, great bread and fresh meats) but their specials (one is always a veggie) are spectacular, too. Lots of gourmet spreads and inventive combos. They also make their own soups and daily cakes (there is always one in the case by the register). Lots of room inside to sit and eat - you will not be disappointed! more
