Editorial review from Citysearch 7/6/2013

So for all the comments on this site. Come on not only are these people obviously not the kind of people whom any business can ever please but the reviews are from 2008!!! Ties cleaners has been in the Hollywood District since 1986, not only do they offer same day service but also next day service. All the employees have been there for years and the prices on shirts are unbeatable. Dry cleaning is also done for a reasonable price even without any toxins or chemicals. You get what you pay for its the ""whole foods or new seasons"" of dry cleaners. Unlike those cheap $2.00 cleaners that do half cycles and reuse their chemicals at least Ties does full loads with top of the line products. Everyone serious don't listen or believe these old comments check out Ties yourself they obviously do great service the place is packed with clothes and always busy! The customer service is awesome too especially the Asain girl who works at the counter. If you wanna save 20% on your full dry cleaning order pick up a Hollywood Star newspaper or go online to VALPAK.COM there is a 20% coupon there too. FOR SURE DO NOT TRUST THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS ASK ANY CUSTOMER WALKING OUT OF THEIR PLACE YOU WILL KNOW THEY BLOW THE COMPETITION AWAY. if you wanna listen to the 4 negative comments from 2008 they are the only four bad apples in a customer base of 10,000 from all the way to the coast to Vancouver Washington. PICK UP A COUPON AND CHECK THEM OUT YOU WILL BELIEVE ME 100%\r more

They Ruin Shirts! 8/2/2011

Be aware! They ruin shirts. Aside from doing a very mediocre job cleaning (pressed with visible streaks, lost several collar inserts, broken a button) which happens on occasion with any cleaner, those people will ruin your shirts with a black Sharpie marker, quite possibly out of spite. And don't even think about bringing this up. The criminal looking dude will come up front and cuss you out! In fact, if you choose to go that route, you might want to record the conversation before you even start, since it is very likely to provide sufficient grounds for a lawsuit. more

DON""T BOTHER! 4/30/2009

I have been taking my clothes here for 5 years. They do a good job, they are fast, but they are expensive. In the last month or two, they have assessed ridiculous charges for 'delinting'. Yes, I have cats. I have had cats for the entire time that I have been bringing in my clothing, and never recieved a charge for this. This kind of charge needs to be addressed when you drop off the clothing, not when you pick it up. They are rude, inconsiderate, have no customer service skills - and obviously don't care about their repeat customers. I will never go back, and warn anyone who is thinking about it not to go at all. Cons: Worst Customer Service - Expensive, Rude more

Should call yourself Lie's not Tie's 3/6/2009

First let me say to you the reader...your smart to read these reviews, now take them to heart. Tie's One Hour Dry Cleaning is not an honest business. I ask the owner directly after my valuable rug was ruined by his Dry Cleaners negligence if he was the owner he replied ""YES"" then when I ask for my money back on the dry cleaning only he said ""YOU HAVE TO SPEAK TO THE OWNER??? ""YOU ARE THE OWNER"" I replied ""AH...WELL...YOU HAVE TO SPEAK TO THE OTHER OWNER, BUT SHE WON'T GIVE YOU YOUR MONEY BACK EITHER"" Then he blamed me for having the rug cleaned there and not having it sent out for four times the cost even though I was told because of the size of the 100% wool rug that it would be OK if they did it there, aren't they the experts after all? This Dry Cleaning business does not stand behind there work, they do care about you the customer. Cons: Service, parking, outcome of product. more

Great place! 2/28/2009

Above and Beyond 12/29/2008

I had never had to have anything altered before but I had a last minute crisis with a my bridesmaid dress. My family had taken their dry-cleaning here for years and have always been happy with their service so they suggested I go to them with my alteration because they offered quick turn around. Pros: talented alteration, attention to detail more

If only 0 stars was an option 8/18/2008

I took my husbands two Tommy Bahama shirts there to be dry cleaned, one had a greasy stain on the front and the other had to mystery spots we couldnt firgure out. So we took them in and the guy helping us was very nice and helpful and told me my shirts would be ready the next day. So the next day we went to pick them up and when I got home I inspected them, well the two mystery spots were still there on one shirt and the other shirt was now free of the greasy spot but had come home with several new spots. So we called in and they told us to bring them back and they would take care of it. Well we went back a few days later to pick them up and one of the mystery spots was not touched because whatever they had put on the first one had pulled the dye out!! Yep pulled the dye out of a $130.00 dollar silk shirt, which by the way was the shirt my husband wore at our wedding. So out of fear of harming anything else they didnt touch the rest of the spots. So we then call to talk to one of the owners, Jennifer. She seems very nice and totally willing to try to fix the spots and possible bring back the color in the one spot where it was pulled out. She promises to call me the next day and let me know what was going on. Well 3 weeks later and plenty of un-returned messages left, I call up livid ready to threaten to call the Bettter Buisness Bureau, Oh your shirts are right here ready to go, oh no one ever called you I am so sorry. Yada yada yada. I go to pick them up and someone asked me if I got Jennifer's message, she tried to call and got my voicemail. Ahhh no she didn't, liars. So he promises she will call me again the next day to talk about my two shirts, I leave my name and number to make sure she has it. Well its been 5 days and still no call, and I now have two very expensive shirts that are ruined and they have no intentions of replacing them what-so-ever. Do yourself a favor and go someplace else, the price obviously reflects the value of workmanship. Cons: everything more

Clothes, yes; rugs, no 6/13/2008

I've been using Tie's for years for my dry cleaning and I've never had a problem - with clothing. However, I recently took in a small flokati area rug, about 4' x 6'. They told me they had to send it out, and I said okay. I got the rug back more than a month later - long after it had been promised - paid $50, and found out when I got it home that, not only had the rug shrunk, it wasn't anywhere near clean - it had a large oily spot that was virtually untouched (the reason I took it in in the first place), and was still full of bits of thread and crumbs. I truly believe someone somewhere tossed it in a washing machine. In short, take your clothes there, don't ever take a rug. Pros: Clothing Cons: Rugs more

Shocked and Appalled 11/19/2007

After admitting responsibility and promise of reimbursement for irreparably damaging our handcrafted garment, repeatedly passing us off to different employees throughout a six-month debacle of dozens of attempts to collect, not one single returned phone call, employees with attitudes and an owner who refuses to resolve customer disputes, we finally received our reimbursement check. Customer service at it's worst. Pros: Inexpensive Cons: Employees more
