A little disappointed 1/25/2012

Like everything getting smaller so is the Tin of cookies I received t for Christmas. Good cookies on top and lesser stuff on the bottom . My sons went to the store in Philly and were not very impressed with the attitude of the clientele. more

Termini bros. Reading Terminal Market 2/11/2011

Although I can't comment on how they treat their employees, I can say that 95 percent of the employees that I have encountered have been helpful and courteous. I did stand in a long line for 15 minutes the last time I was there which wasn't the most fun but when my fiance and I were waited on we were apologized to for the wait. I then placed my order and the guy who was waiting on me recommended a few changes and after sampling some cookies I found out that he knew what I wanted better than I did. They aren't always this helpful but service is never bad. Oh, I have never seen anyone of Hispanic ethnicity behind the counter more

Terrible Bros Bakery 8/22/2010

I am so sorry you had to go through this experience, but you picked the worst people and place to work for. I've know that company for many many years and experienced 30x worst. What you said is the absolute truth, but you only know a quarter of it. People have gotten physically abused such as, beating up employees, older people knocked down to floor, screaming was the daily menu, verbally abusement was unbelievable. This company is so full of themselves, it's so overrated. I also hear that some of the employees that have been there for about 30+ years were the managers and now have to answer to illegal alien mexicans that can't barely speak English..... that's why everyone is so miserable. To add to the misery, employees have to adhere to a strict list of work assignments that have be done if a ridiculous short time, if not done lets say in 10 minutes, the verbal abuse will occur! All the products have dramatically changed due to the satellite stores, and have to be produced so ahead of time, thus being stale and old. The complimentary desserts at Mr. Joe Cafe are nothing but 3 week old from the satellite stores that never sold. The only thing going for them is the name... Theres better bakeries that are way fresher and much nicer. I worked at other bakeries for 30 years and never got treated as horrible in this company. It's unreal how they treat employees there.... Let this be an experience for you, don't go to termini's, better off going to acme honestly........ more

AVOID TERMINI'S 5/21/2010

As a former employee of Termini's, I have no rebuttal. Everything you say is true, which lends to why I am a FORMER employee. They treat employees terribly and with no respect. Forget about asking for a day off, and the pay is nothing to write home about at $9 an hour. They don't accommodate employees or customers. Their cakes are frozen and thawed when orders are placed, and all of the pastries for sale at 8th street are the ones that were sent back from the other satellite stores because they couldn't be sold, meaning they are stale/old. People always used to comment that they went to that store because it was the ""freshest"" and I always chuckled in my head thinking what idiots they were. Pros: parking lot. Cons: prices, ownership is horrible more

quality 2/28/2010

wont be going back to termini,s after the way they treated my friends daughter i have been hearing more and more how horrible they treat their employees. there are other much better bakery,s in P.A people tell me that they got the name so quality and service, and overall INTEGRITY does not matter no more because people just see the name,it just went to their heads! $28.00 a pound for cookies that all taste the same and the feeling that they did you a favor .i also hear that the bakers were replaced by mexicans well that explains a lot and oh yea just try to return something ,!!!!! Cons: attitude-price-lack of flavor-neighborhood more

Not like it used to be 7/24/2009

Some of my fondest childhood memories include pastry and cannoli from Termini's, especially during the holiday season. However, the quality of their products have decreased over time as their prices have increased. On my most recent visit to the main bakery, I was shocked when one of the sweet sales girls emerged from the back of the bakery teary- eyed. Shortly thereafter, a man that I recognized as one of the owners came out from the back looking furious (coincidence?). One of my friend's daughters used to be employed at the bakery and she said her time there was unpleasant due to the constant wrath of the owners there. Because of the price changes and their awful treatment of their employees, I think I will now spend my $3 and $4 for cannoli at a bakery that values its staff. Pros: excellent customer service Cons: overpriced, unfriendly owners more

To answer Absurd's question... 8/24/2008

Old time employees long gone, mexicans running the bakery basically, and the junior brothers executive weasels ruining the business. Everything overpriced to keep balance between families expenses. Pros: Parking, Cleanliness Cons: Service, Prices, Attitude, Freshness, dumb photos of history more

Absurd 8/13/2008

I am not going to review the quality because its universally understood that its superb. My complaint is the prices of some items, specifically the cookies. I have no word to describe the price per pound other than ""absurd"". At $20 a pound, I defy anyone at Terminis to justify that price. I mean really...isnt there a price ceiling on ""really good"". What is causing this price to be so high? Is it because they pay their employees so much? Exhorbitant rent for their retail space? Ingredients that cost twice as much EVERY OTHER BAKERY? Its positively insulting to say the least. Here is an open challenge. I want someone at Terminis to offer a rebuttal to this review and give me a logical and tangible reason that their cookies cost TWICE as much as every other bakery in the city. The time is yours. more

Too Expensive 12/21/2006

Just returned from the Redding Terminal store paying $40.00 for 2.5 pounds of cookies! The quality is OK. I would not go so far as to say they are the best in Philly, but they may be the most expensive! more

Awesome Carrot Cake!! 8/23/2005

Best carrot cake I have ever tasted not too sweet, nice flavor and texture and the nuts just add to the taste experience. Cookies are good but during the warm humid weather they are stale from time to time and with the top dollar they ask for them this should never happen. The cannoli is nothing great, the best come from the Bensonhurst, Brooklyn NY area. Pros: Parking Cons: Expensive more

Owner`s 3/23/2005

DO NOT GO TO TERMINI'S 12/28/2004

I pre-ordered from Termini's for the holidays. For a preorder they require it to be paid in full when placing the order. They had no problem taking my money, but when I went to pick up my order it was not around. There was NO apology, and I had to wait 3 hours before they would let me get other items (by this time the store was closing and there was nothing left to choose from). I was not allowed to get a refund and had to choose two cakes for two different locations, two different nights to feed 26 people. NEVER, NEVER go to Termini's!!!!!! more

The BEST 12/10/2004

What can i tell you about Termini's that hasn't already been said a thousand times?Simply, this is the best bakery in the city. The absolute best cannoli you will find anywhere(yes New York this does include you!).Besides the best cannoli you can't go wrong with the other pastry either.Termini's.Enough said. more

Philly's Traditional Italian Bakery 3/30/2004

Termini's is famous for their fabulous cannoli but there is much more there to try. The buttercream birthday cakes are delicious and remarkably fresh. Also worth trying is the fudge bundt cake in the winter and the lemon cooler cake in the summer. Make sure to try some torrone, too. The torrone recipe has not changed for generations and it is a fabulous nougat and nut-filled treat. If you stop by early you may be able to catch the pastry here as well. The eclairs and almond horns are a good bet too! Finally, make sure to try the seasonal favorites such as the ""bones"" around halloween time, and the Easter cakes and zeppole in the spring! Come with an empty stomach because you won't leave with one. If you stop by on Christmas Eve be prepared for long lines and a live band to ease your wait...hey it's tradition! more

best of philly 9/20/2002

Termini's is one more reason to be thankful to live in Philadelphia. sometimes we forget how good we have it here. try getting authenic Italian pastries like this anywhere else in the Country. maybe Little Italy, NYC could match this place, but even that is not a given. just walking in and smelling the fresh-baked goods is enough to drive your sweet tooth insane. order up some cannoli. you can thank me later Pros: cannolis, cannolis, cannolis more
