I've heard many people talk about Tavern on Green and was optimistic about seeing what they had to offer. I happened to be in the area this weekend and was looking for a place to eat with a friend. The reputation brought me through the door and the experience has made sure that I will not return. It wasn't crowded when we came in and they had enough staff, so there was no reason why the service should be so lousy. The food was good when it finally arrived (except for the queso fundido--but what do you expect from a non-Mexican place), but it took forever to get a table, to place our order, to get drinks refilled, and to pay the check. To top it off the waitress was rude. \r

I'm sure that this place is great if all you want is a cold beer, but you're better off going up to the bar to order. Otherwise, plan on sitting with a thirst and an empty glass for much longer than necessary. I don't ask for much, but I need more than this.
