Beware Vegetarian guys.....i got chicken piece in white rice 3/25/2011

I am Vegetarian. Recently, i had lunch at taj with my friends....i got white chicken piece in pulavo kind of rice.....i informed those guys....the guy (did not know his name) he simply came 2 our table and told he will find out what happend.....and we waited for him......he could not appear there at all untill we left that place.....this is really bad........he knows that this was their mistake....did not even turned up.... more

Excellent Indian Food 9/3/2006

Taj Palace serves up an excellent lunch buffet. Most places give you a choice of 4 entries and if you're lucky, an appetizer. This buffet boasts two rice dishes, 4 vegetarian and 4 meat dishes. The traditional tandoori chicken is tasty and tender, the goat dish is a must try, no matter what it is. The complex spices chosen match well with the strong meat. The buffet also provides appetizers, fruit and salad as well as dessert - which comprise of two different indian cakes - I've encountered lentil, carrot and pumpkin, spiced rice pudding and those wonderful deepfried balls of dough in a sweet syrup. Dinner is also excellent with "set" vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals available which comprise of small servings of several different dishses. A great way to taste many dishes. Taj Palace does not skimp on the spices. Some indian restaurants cover lack of spice by increasing the heat. This is not true of Taj Palace. All that and endless Chai, good service and a friendly proprietor that greets you personally each time you visit, Taj Palace should be a favorite with anyone who enjoys indian food. more

Best Indian Food Full Stop 7/15/2006

No two ways about it. This is one of the best Indian restaurants I have ever been to in my life! And this includes some of the better restaurants in the top hotels in India. The tandoori chicken is just perfectly marinated, with the right spicyness and tart sourness. The goat meat curry is mouth and tongue tingly good. The chicken tikka masala on top of their vegetarian biryani is on top of this world! Finish it all off with their rice pudding - two helpings of it. *burp!* Definitely a must-visit every week! They are very child friendly, and the service is just exemplary. more

Best Desserts on an Indian Buffet in the Area 6/19/2006

Some of Kanishka's Microsoft contingent have supposedly made the switch to this venue, and not just because it was closer. Expect their lunch buffet to be packed, and come early if you can to get the best of the desserts, usually Gulaab Jamun, Gajar squares and those sweet brown Lentil? squares, which is probably the best part. Each dish is fresh and distinctive and this compensates for the fact that it's not the largest buffet in town. more

Online Ordering Now Available at Taj Palace 5/8/2006

I went to Taj Palace on business and when I came in during the lunch hour - the place was packed and it isn't a small place. Next thing I know I meet a friend of mine who couldn't say enough good things about this place and how busy it was practically always. Naturally, I had to try and it was as good as promised. The food was freshly made, tasted great, almost as if someone cooked a delicious Indian food for me right then and there (and for the other 100+ people who seemed to have the same sentiments). Recently Taj Palace has added ability to order takeout online, via the service called Takeout Online, and they will be changing their Web site very soon. Of course you can always order online from www.takeout-online.com and clicking on Taj Palace. If you like Indian food or you want to try Indian food - Taj Palace is a great place to go! Definitely recommend it! more

The perfect buffet 8/22/2005

Not a Sunday goes by that I do not want to go and get brunch at Taj Palace. I am amazed at how fresh and high-quality the food is, much more so than any other buffet I have visited. The owner is always pleased to see me and says hello. The buffet is refilled continuously, assuring you that you are eating something recently cooked. Everything is so tasty that my only problem is leaving. more

Amazing Restaurant -- red alert 6/25/2005

That's right. I suspect that Tom Cruise would give up Scientology, Katie Holmes, and all his award-winning showdogs for a crack at this place. It is, hands down, the greatest Indian restaurant. Not in the city. Not in the State. But the world. I know this because I once took a trip to Italy AND England and I have frequented several cities in the East Coast. This place beats them all. The Lassis are plentiful, the naan is fresh and free, the meat is top quality, and the salads are abundant. Try the chicken tikka masala, the fresh samosas, the spiced eggplant, and the tandoori chicken. Try it all via the buffet. Then take a short break and come back for more. Also, the host is really nice and makes a point to welcome all his customers. more

Fresh. tasty food and a lot of variety make the Taj Palace a top choice for lunch any day. The choices always include favorites such as chicken tikki masala and tandoori chicken. Also available are several vegetarian dishes. The service is great and aims to please. The lassis are excellent. more

best lunch buffet 5/23/2005

Taj Palace has the best lunch buffet I have ever had. You can eat and eat and never feel sick. The food is as high-quality as most restaurant's entrees and includes four different salads. They bring fresh-baked naan to your table and sometimes vegetable samosas hot from the oven. There rice pudding has a refreshing milk taste. Any complaints you might have are promptly fixed and then some. I spend most of my waking hours plotting my next trip. more
