When I first walked into the Aladdin, I didn’t expect the food to be much good. It’s a small place, not entirely pleasant to spend much time in. But when I actually tasted the food, I was surprised: their falafel is flavorful, well-spiced and has a perfect crunchy-inside soft-outside texture. The tahini sauce is also quite good. It's great for a quick meal on the go.

Sack’s is expensive, but completely worth it as a treat now and then. I would recommend their (absolutely delicious) California BLTs. I don’t know what it is, but their take on this simple sandwich is much better than anything I have attempted to recreate at home. The sourdough, the onion, the bacon, and the tomato are perfectly mixed with a heaping portion of avocado. It’s a fantastic sandwich. My daughter likes their Albequrque Turkey, which has BBQ sauce, hot peppers, and cheese.

The big hassle is checking out. The clerks are over-worked and sometimes the lines are long. The do-it-yourself check-out is frustrating when it asks for do-overs repeatedly. Nonetheless, one-stop shopping is a nice offset.
