I've been wearing glasses for over ten years. I got a pair of ""Rim Mounts"" and Sunglasses on one of their deals. I was treated well when I purchased them, and then things went...

I needed sight fast, and got it overnight in this place! 12/23/2011

I'm from Australia, and when my pair of glasses went under the rails of the fabled cable cars of San Francisco, I went to this place for help. I was sporting new lenses and frames within hours. Tip don't try and jump onto a moving cable car loaded with a backpack, camera gear and an open bottle. You have no hands left over to grab falling eyeglasses. DO NOT GO HERE 4/25/2009

Had to return 3 times and they still didn't get the order correct. When asked to refund our money, they said they could not. There were no managers that worked on weekends and therefore were not authorized. ""Sorry about that folks"" I said, really, no one has ever asked for a refund - you've never had a disappointed customer? ""Nope, never"". Amazing. So I had to call their Vice President, after insisting on getting a name. Naturally, he doesn't work on weekends so perhaps I'll get a callback on Monday. Till then, no glasses and I'm out my $344.92 deposit. (BTW, they ordered the wrong glasses - they were coke glasses thick ala 1952. Unbelievably horrible and yet the salespeople that worked there didn't seem to think there was anything wrong with this. Not that it mattered, since the prescription was wrong anyhow!!!) Worst customer service I've experienced in ages. I beg people - do not go there - you will be sorely disappointed and frustrated. Pros: Can't think of one good thing to say about this place Cons: Horrible service more

After 2 years, I can safely say I hate this place 4/10/2009

I am not afraid to say that after going here for 2 years, I hate this place. DO NOT GO HERE. a few things over the course that went wrong: 1. cost more money. I gave them my insurance, and over the course of 2 years of ordering contacts, they never used it! I found out only when I asked if a new insurance card would change anything, and they said ""no, because we don't have you down as having insurance"". WHAT? i had been paying way too much for my contacts for 2 years! they gave me one free box for each eye to make up for it and acted like it was the biggest favor ever. please. 2. poor service. one time i ordered contacts, paid for them, and the person at teh store forgot to put in the order. only after i called and asked where they were did they realize, and didn't even rush the order. 3. unprofessional. yesterday i went in (again, nobody called me to say that my contacts came in) and picked up my lenses, and asked why someone hadn't called or if they had called, why they didn't leave a message (thinking that perhaps i had been out of service). the guy responded ""oh no. we ALWAYS leave a message"". am i lying to you sir? no, i did not receive a freakin message. i assured him i had not and he just smirked. these are just a FEW things. crappy selection of glasses? check. crazy people wandering in off market street? check. on and on. AVOID THIS PLACE. Pros: on market street Cons: rude,, ripped me off, bad selection, make mistakes a lot more

Best Quality and Service for the price 9/26/2006

I had a great experience here. I found the staff to be fun and knowledgeable. I didn't know how much the whole package would cost and what my insurance covered, but I was given several options. In the end-great frames, great service! Pros: Service, Value Cons: Parking more

Worst Turnaround Time / Glasses Expierence I've ever had 8/24/2006

I've been wearing glasses for over ten years. I got a pair of ""Rim Mounts"" and Sunglasses on one of their deals. I was treated well when I purchased them, and then things went south. Pros: Great Selection, Knowledgeable Staff. Cons: Horrible Service after purchasing, bad turnaround time. They will lie about what's happening with your glasses. more

Where are my glasses? 3/26/2006

I brought my Oakley frames in for repair and they've had them for over a month now.I bought the extended warranty and now they say that they don't have a contract with Oakley anymore. They said they'll see what they can do. Update May 23 rd;still waiting I'm having another pair of glasses somewhere else. I'm spending $775 in total for frames and perscription. S.F.S.E. could have had this money... I got my frames for Oakley not S.F.S.E. They sent them there. That's what you get for the $25 warranty. Nothing. Pros: Selection Cons: Location ie.parking, Prices, Warranty more

Just Fine 2/24/2006

When I called to make an appointment, the guy was very friendly and accomodating. In person, however, they were somewhat less cordial. The eye doctor was really nice, though, and did a good job. In addition to buying contacts, I ordered new lenses for some frames of my own, and was told they'd be ready within the next 2 days. After 3 days, however, I hadn't received a call, so I called SFSE. It turned out they were ready, but nobody had bothered to let me know. But service is so bad everywhere these days, I wasn't really surprised. It could have been a lot worse. Pros: nice on phone Cons: snooty in person more

service 5/27/2005

i disagree with the other reviewer. i never had to wait in line for more than a minute. everyone there seems to be pretty funny. maybe i just have a different style of humour. the selection however. still reflects the hidious top ten styles of today. more

You've got to be kidding 4/27/2005

I can't believe that after spending 250.00 on perscription glasses that it was infered that if I wanted quality glasses I should have spent more money after I had been in twice to have my glasses repaired in two years. I was also told that two years was dated for glasses. When it can to having them repaired I heard every escuse as to what the status of the repair was, from ""well thier in the mail and you know how the postal system is (after 2 weeks) or they have to search for a new armiture for you glasses because their so old (2 yr). I would think that in this cave that is their warehouse they might have a computor system that would tell them what was in stk, as far as replacemenmt parts. Never again Pros: location Cons: attitude sucks, never any help, lying and deceite more

super snotty service! 8/13/2004

The prices and selection are good enough to keep me coming back, but man oh man! is the service sub par! Similar to the typical Starbucks employee, the employees at SFSE seem bitter and act as if they are too good for their jobs. I just had to practically hang up on an incredibly snotty woman at the West Portal location. Please folks, ITS NOT OUR FAULT YOU HATE YOUR JOB!!!! Pros: prices, selection Cons: , rude employees, rude employees more
