I'm a style writer and designer who has been shopping at the Silk Trading Company in San Francisco for a long time. I had a really bad experience at the store recently. I'm doing a volunteer project for a school and bought some sale fabric. I asked to return it because it doesn't work and they said I couldn't because it was CUT. Here's the funny part. I bought a bolt and the salesgirl cut off 1/4 yard saying she could sell it as a remnant. It was just a ploy so I couldn't return it. I told her she probably shouldn't cut it but she did anyway.
I like some of their fabric but I'm big on service, and big on showrooms being cooperative since I frequent them.
The fabric was pretty and I know they could sell the three yards. Even after explaining the problem, they were really difficult. I won't shop there again. These are obviously greedy people. The opposite of Nordstrom! Now you know why everyone shops at Nordstrom.
Pros: SOME NICE FABRICS AND OCCASIONAL SALES
Cons: STUBBORN ABOUT RETURNS AND STAFFED BY TROLLS
