Editorial review from Citysearch 3/18/2013

Ok! This is the worst business owner I have ever seen. If she doesn't like you, she will be talking about you in front of other customers! I know that customer's son left some dirt on the floor but its not a reason to be talking bad about your customer. She even said that she's gonna pinch the little boy's face if she see them again. I mean if she is that upset, she needs to talk about them in private not in front of other customers. I feel so disgusted that I wanted to leave. Not only that they have expensive food but they also have no proper hygiene. She talks about the customer for being ""makalat"" or messy when they can't even wipe their sauce bottles. After we pay for our meal, we put a little tip. She didn't even look at us and she gave us this mean face. She seems to be upset because we didn't gave her the tip she wanted. I can't believe that this owner would do such. Where is the essence of a good customer service? I will never gonna be coming back to this place. I have heard how terrible this place is, but I still gave it a try. Yeah, I say they have great food and fast service. It's just the owner's manner stinks! If she can talk to other people about other customer's thing after eating there and she didn't even know them? Who knows what she's gonna say about you after you left the place. As we say, you can also try and I will let you judge it yourself. Overall rating for me is 1 out of 10. I don't care how good the food is if the people are mean? Doesn't work for me..\r more

Okay 11/20/2010

Like the other reviews, I'll repeat that it's a pretty neat little market/restaurant type place. But all in all, the food wasn't too great, and the service was a bit on the slow side. The gifts were also priced a bit on the high side aswell. If you're looking for a good Filipino restaurant, you should look at going to Wootz Asian Cuisine on Culebra. Very good food, at very generous prices and portions. The cooks and waitress are all very nice and attentive. Sari-Sari is an alright place, but in my opinion Wootz is much better if you're looking for a true Filipino restaurant, with authentic Filipino dishes. There is also a projector screen with Filipino channels running on them, and I'm not sure but I think they're also working on putting up a second projector. more

Good Filipino Food cooked to order! 5/19/2008

We searched the internet and found this place. So off we go and found what we considered a large Sari-Sari Store...at least large for Filipino Standards. My wife and I both ordered different dinners and were completely satisfied. The food is very authentic. Service is fast (for filipino Standards). They do take their time as in the Philippines, however, it is NOT Fast Food. Seems like all the dishes are cooked to order and food is also served family style if you wish. The gifts are very pricey, but where are you going to get them here in the states. We have been back twice and will go again. Pros: Ample parking, attended to promptly, excellent food. Cons: Gift items high priced. more

A pleasant surprise in San Antonio 2/18/2008

This place is a combined little market which specializes in Filipino food items and a restaurant serving traditional Filipino dishes and some Chinese dishes. more

If You Are Not Rushing This Is The Place To Go 10/20/2007

My husband and I had dinner in this place. We sat for at least 15 minutes before the waitress came to render her service. I could tell that she is not really a waitress by the arrogance of her tone and her non verbal cues. Overall the ambience was more of a Chinese Restaurant than Filipino. Food was OK; it was a little greasy I thought, the portion was OK.. Pros: Parking Cons: Not Accommodating, Slow Service, Staff are attending to store and restaurant at the same time more

Best Filipino food in town! 1/26/2003

Of all the Filipino food places that I have 'recon'ed. This one is the best. The service is slow, and the atmoshpere on the sleepy side. But this is absolutly the best Filipino food in this City, bar none! And this is half restaurant, half market. Go there for the restaurant though. Pros: ABS-CBN, Authentic Food, Magnolia Ice Cream Cons: dull atmosphere, out of the way more

Filipino food??? 7/30/2002

There are very few Filipino restaurants here in San Antonio compare in CA but now I know why. The only one that they have here which is Sari-sari is very bad. The food are too salty and the waitress/waiters do not seem to provide a very good service. I ordered a fish and could see the layer of salt on the scale. Filipino food is very good but they seem to screw up in cooking it making it taste completely different from how it is suppose to. I will not visit unless I hear somebody say they have a different cook now.... Pros: Oriental foods, Convenient location, one of the few in SA Cons: bad service, salty food more
