Rittenhouse Square Park - anytime of year. Spring flowers and festivals, art shows and special events. Lunch on a bench - watching the birds, babies and people sitting on the grass. Winter lights - decorated trees....aaahhh. I worked across the street - what a lunchtime de-stresser !!!!!! more

Vibrant 1/14/2003

I love Rittenhouse Square. Although I can't really afford to live all that clsoe to it, I still make a point to visit it as often as possible. It is a beautiful park. Trees light up with lights during the holidays and fountains in the summer. there seems to be something going on at all hours. Late at night you can catch people walking their dogs. On weekends it's a mixture of old and yound, artsy and yuppie. I can walk through the park and see a couple of guys having a beer, some playing chess, couples kissing, and the whole square is surrounded by activity. Too bad Washington Sq doesn't have the same vibrancy. more
