I went out looking for bridal lingerie. I had been to several shops in NYC before I stumbled upon Coeur. Upon entering Mona asked me what I was looking for and immediately pulled out at least 5 suggestions for me. I loved them so much I ended up buying more that want I originally came for. I even told my fiance that if he ever wanted to buy me something special to go to Coeur!
Pros: Great customer serivce, very nice selection

Smak Parlour is one of a kind. This shop is the Philly's happy place, a fun girly rock & roll heaven. Its really spectacular: a pink building sprouting up out of a city block, sparkling and shining through while surrounded by grey concrete and black top. If you haven't been, you need to check it out and if you're not local, its worth the trip.

I've been a regular shopper at Knit Wit for years and I can't say enough how much I enjoy going in there. They always seem to have what I'm looking for and if they don't have my size in something they can usually get it from one of their other locations. The saleswomen are great and always remember me and my style of clothing. Great selection and beautiful clothing!

Ladies, this is THE shop for dresses!!!
I'm not sure what the reviewer below me is talking about- I was just in the shop to try and find a dress for a formal. I had a wonderful experience. I went in on a VERY busy Saturday when everyone in Rittenhouse was in the store, but the salesgirl was still attentive and helpful. She found me the perfect dress. There was a huge variety of evening wear, from gowns to cocktail dresses, in all sorts of styles. I even found earrings to match :) I will definitely be back!
Pros: Fancy dresses (so hard to find in Philly), wide variety

My boyfriend took me here to buy jeans after I saw a pair I liked in the window. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a salesman who was very friendly and helpful. When I tried the jeans on, they were a perfect fit and seemed like they were made just for me.
Pro - GREAT fitting jeans.
Con - Very expensive.

If you like thrift shops... don't get your hopes up. Green Street Consignment is on the pricier side of the bridge. You know... a pair of se7en jeans for 30 bucks... but hey! if you're in the market for 'em that's not a bad price to pay! I found a fantastic leather armband-wrap-bracelet dickies watch there a few months ago for $20 and I wear it all the time. So if you don't mind paying a bit more for good quality items, check it out.
(oh, and if you're looking into consigning... just remember, they only take really NICE stuff... take your worn out clothes over to goodwill.)

This store reminds me of New York. The merchandise is expensive, but diverse and unique. Women's clothes, house wares for decorating, soaps, shoes, stationary, pillows, Jonathan Adler pottery, jewelry, the list goes on. Clothes are tiny and expensive, but nice designers. Great place to buy a gift.
