What can I say, it's where my day begins and ends, where I catch up with all my friends, where I practice my back bends. I don't mind that the Queer as Folk crowd comes in strong on Fridays -- always good to check out the newbies. Still the most comfertable place in the city i think... more

Great neighborhood bar 5/15/2002

Sure, the place has changed over the years. Sure, it's a little more ""trendy."" But the basic appeal is still there ... a fun, casual atmosphere with a hot crowd. Sure, it gets a little too smokey in the patio area, but you can't beat the mix of guys and some gals who come here. You've got your Castro boys, your alt- Mission types, etc. In addition, Pilsner's got the best jukebox in town. Great rock classics, from the Rolling Stones to David Bowie. Also, if you love pool, this is a fun place to play-- the regulars at the table love new competition. Be forwarned, the place is packed to the gils on Friday and Saturday nights. laid-back, relaxed, great patio 5/14/2002

Since you aren't really allowed to smoke in any enclosed public spaces in SF, it's nice to see a casual bar with a large patio for the nicotine-inclined. The bartenders are friendly and the crowd is relaxed. This is a fine place to spend an evening. more
